There has been a lot of drama out of T'town today with the announcement that CLK will not be calling the offense for Bama on Jan. 9. CSS will be making the change from analyst to OC. With that being said, what will the score be when the Tide and Tigers play in Tampa?

Lots of optimistic Bama fans here; Clemson looks hot and we played sloppy. Not what you want to see this time of year. Sorry; I'm just trying to be realistic and realistically I see our chances very low to win this one. I don't want to predict the score, but I say we have a 5% to 10% of winning this game. We don't get thumped because no team can do that to us, but I can see this game being much like the Utah 2008, A&M 2012, Oklahoma 2013, Ohio State 2014 or Ole Miss 2015 games. We may get a chance to win it at the end, but realistically we were never ever close to winning those games.

Maybe I'm overly optimistic as well but these teams are different than last year. A few points.

1) I think Bama fans have an illusion of Watson from last years game. His game performance this year for his passing has only been fair giving up a lot of ints.
2) Watsons running is no where near last years. Either he looks timid or coached not to run.
3) Clemsons defense has given up a lot points in games and at times looked awful compared to last year.
4) Bamas defense is better than last years.

I think our defense will control this game.
Bama 31
Clemson 17

Just look at last year to see that our offense wasn't the greatest, especially against Clemson. Sure, OJ had a monster game and Drake's touchdown sealed it, but our line and quarterback play in that game was garbage. Our defense is better this year, we have a quarterback that can run the ball opening up a new element to planning for us, and we have a set of running backs capable of replicating Henry's 150 yards. Watson is the best quarterback in college football, but he is not without fault or error this year. He's turned the ball over big time and he's not using his legs as much. Their defense is still tough, but we also have some tough guys. I'm not saying we roll to a four touchdown victory, but I am saying don't let one game that we won by 17 points blind you to what our team can do compared to last year's team and what they have accomplished this year. We will score points, and our defense will be tough no matter what.

Let's compare years.

2015 - Alabama scored 35.1 per game and allowed 15.1
2016 - Alabama scored 39.4 per game and allowed 11.4
An improvement of 4.3+3.7=8 points per game

2015 - Clemson scored 38.5 per game and allowed 21.7
2016 - Clemson scored 39.5 per game and allowed 17.1
An improvement of 1+4.6= 5.6 points per game

So I say Bama wins 53-45.

At first I was freaking out about lane leaving, but now I can not shake the feeling that the offense is going to come out with a chip on their shoulder and dominate the los. I think our new oc also will want to prove his worth. I think our defense will come out playing on fire to avenge the amount of points clemson scored last year. Not even close. Alabama 34 clemson 13
