On November 19, 2011 the Eagles will travel to Tuscaloosa to face the Crimson Tide. Last year Alabama spent part of the season number one in the polls, advanced to the Southeastern Conference championship game and played in the Allstate Sugar Bowl.

Better than some OOC games.

GSU has fielded some good teams the last few years.

It's late November from what I understand...prolly homecoming.

Ga. Southern was a dominant team in 1AA ranks in the eighties. Erskine Russell put them on the map.
He was the best thing that come out of UGA. Ga. Southern was the first team to win back to back 1AA championships games. Let's hope their forget to bring the spring water with them that day.

Erk was amazing, and a great person. But Paul Johnson (Georgia Tech's current coach) is better at the triple option that Urban Meyer or Tom Osborne, the guys is amazing and took GSU to 3 straight national championships 1998, 99, 2000 and won the last two. I hope to expect much better treatment than we recieved from UGA fans, Athens is a hell hole and i'm never going back.

You guys should at worst like our jerseys!!!!

Welcome aboard!
Thanks! I joined a while back because for a little while I thought you guys were going to hire Paul Johnson. I still have the highest respect for Alabama, of course I like any team that hates UGA.

Many people speak of GSU as the Bama of FCS because we have won more champs than anyone and our jerseys!

ANOTHER REASON YOU GUYS SHOULD LIKE US IS WE WERE BEATING AUBURN SOMETHING LIKE 17-0 THE LAST TIME WE PLAYED THEM.
we lost in the end though :(

Coach Russell was one of my favorites. He was a great speaker too. At a banquet someone lightheartedly asked him if he cheated at recruiting. His response was "Absolutely not. You have to have money to cheat, and we don't have any."

I'm a fan of Paul Johnson and I think Hatcher is a hell of a coach as well.

BUT, better than Osborne? Wow, that's a might strong statement there. That may end up being proven true considering the amount of players he should be able to attract at Tech. But, a little early for that statement now, I'd say.

I'm anxious to see what the Jackets look like in 2010...by that time, he'll have the majority of "his players" in his system.

Sorry I am kinda fanatical about PJ. PJ and Tom Osborne are two of 3 coaches to reach 100 wins in X amount of seasons. (Was Bear Bryant the other one?:a:).

Oh, I understand. I've followed PJ for several years now.

I really think you are in GREAT hands with Chris Hatcher. He's another I've followed from his time at Valdosta St. Hell, even before that but I didn't realize it...his time at UK with the Mumme attack and his coaching of Tim Couch was a statement.

The question with Hatcher is how long is GS going to be able to hang on to him?
