šŸ“ Bama Insider: It's a package deal for No. 1 DT Ishmael Sopsher

This whole premise just rubs me wrong. I'm the middle of three boys & as much as I'd love for either one of them to get a scholarship of any type, we'd never even think about making the 'both of us or nothing' stance simply because it is extortion. PERIOD. And our parents taught each of us that we must earn our way...

However, if our stance is simply "Look, we are not offering you both & from the looks of it, your brother may not qualify academically. Therefore, if that is the case you are welcome. Otherwise, enjoy your corndogs.'

Brother Richt also signed both Ogletree brothers and as soon as Alec bolted for the NFL suddenly the other brother was physically unable to play. Robert Nkemdiche (sp?) wanted his brother Denzel (2 years earlier) and his boy David Kamara to be signed. All three were signed. Seemed to work out well for them. Yikes!

Ogletree's brother Xander was atleast capable and saw a lot of time at fullback and performed well.

True.

I've seen it rumored that Rodney has reclassified to the 2020 class and won't have any affect on where Ish signs.

It's also been suggested that he'll move up to D1 play when he graduates from the community college he's going to play with this season.

Rodney redshirting last year still leaves him within the scope of the SEC teams that want to pursue him. (SEC rules dictate JUCO guys must have two years of eligibility left to join the conference.) IF he doesn't graduate from SWCC, he's headed to another conference with more lax admission policies.

Is BAMA still hotly pursuing Ish or have they turned their focus to trying to flip Pickering? or are we trying to add both?

All this coaching turnover is Probably going to cost Bama some recruits on NSD.

Saw this on the Rant.......

Tosh has been the area/lead recruiter for To'oto'o and Heimuli, but Golding has also been involved as he'd be their ILB position coach. Golding has called and talked to both of them about Tosh going the Browns. Both said they understand that coaches leave and they're not troubled about it. Both are still looking foward to their upcoming OVs to Bama and in-home visits from Golding and Saban.

However, Bogle sounds like he's concerned. Pannunzio, his area/main recruiter, and Lupoi as his OLB position coach, recently visited him. Bogle said he has not yet been contacted by anyone from Alabama about Tosh's impending departure. He said he's considering taking an OV to Florida and visiting Miami again. I'm amazed Pannunzio hadn't called Bogle yet. Smh.

Eta: All three said they were promptly contacted by other schools recruiting them soon after the news broke that Lupoi is going to Cleveland.

LOL...no doubt the other teams understand what takes place at the U of A....and quickly....no way would they negative recruit against The King...no way.

Bogle sounded wishy washy when he committed. I don't believe he is being honest, but is rather looking for an excuse to stay home.

We'll see... but I'm sure our recruiting angle includes discussion and talk that your commencement is the university and the system we run. We turn over coaches every year, so I'm sure we talk about that in the recruiting process to neutralize as much as we can when coaches do turn over. I doubt the idea of losing position and coordinators is a shock when these kids are considering Bama...

Guess it's good we got the bulk of our class in on Early Signing Day. Many have posted on here about Alabama finding ways to make that work to their benefit, as other schools initially thought it would even the playing field and a way to compete with the big dogs. NOPE! We signed most of our guys, top targets in December, before our coaches left, so these last few pieces, while important, will not doom the class if they bolt due to coaching departures.

If you look back on how Big Game Bob left OU it might be a great path (only if you have the current coach on staff) since OU had signed all their players and then Bob gave the keys to Lincoln. Thus there was time for LR to get up to speed recruiting before he had to sign another class in Dec. If you had to go find a new coach in March then that would be more difficult.......
