🏈 Bama has the best defense going into this game.

Great to see @JoshB and @BamaFan334 not giving Bama a chance. We have Vegas not giving them a chance and if we can get the talking heads to predict a bama loss we will have the puppies right where we want them. Could they lose Monday sure, blown out doubtful, but I still hang my hat on CNS being on our sideline as the difference.

Roll Tide and keep bringing the yummy rat poison.

I already said we were gonna win by my score prediction. Sorry if I don't gloat about history from 50-60 years ago and how it somehow pertains to Monday night, but I'm not penciling us in for the next five Natty's because Saban is our coach. You had the same mentality before the A&M game as well. It's ok to see flaws in our game or appreciate how good the opponent can be.

The culture and tradition of winning creates an internal push to live up to that standard which impacts their preparation. It fuels a kid to go beyond what they would have done. It also pushes them to never quit during a game. It is a belief that they will find a way. Does it guarantee a win, no it does not. Georgia is a really good team and extremely talented. Honestly I felt much more comfortable about game 1 than I do game 2 but I have seen CNS do something as crazy as replace his OC before a championship game and almost win it. He has taken a freshman QB and replaced a 25 game winner to win a championship. If anyone can put a team on the field that beats a very good team twice in one year it is him. Having people make the team an underdog allows him to tap into that competitive spirit and bring another gear out of the guys in crimson. That is what I am expecting.

I believe Georgia still looks over at the team in Crimson and White and hopes they can beat them. So what happens when they punch and Bama punches back? Intangibles/mental toughness...

I may be completely wrong and Georgia may come in and completely dominate Bama, I just do not believe they will. To much pride in those crimson jerseys.

Y'all better take it easy on @JoshB - he's doing his job!

I appreciate him taking the online beating for the greater good of the Tide! I know what he's up to

As far as predictions... I had a sneaky good feeling in game #1 that Bryce & CO airing it out might be really hard to defend. It played nicely with the "nothing to lose" approach combined with Georgia being a shoe-in playoff team.

It pains me to point out that all 3 circumstances have changed... Which is likely why UGA is favored after that beating and the betting public generally having a lot of faith in Saban for a decade +. It's concerning. As I've pointed out before, I'm really concerned about the Metchie injury and hopefully Ekiyor being able to play at a high level. There's real issues to overcome.

On the flip side, having a healthy B Rob is fantastic. The only way it hurts the offense is if BOB isn't as aggressive and relies to much on him. He's not a "game breaker"... He's a really nice piece to the puzzle. And if you've ever been in coaching, you know the warm feeling inside of having the best player. In this case, CNS has the best player regardless of which side of the ball is on the field! That is meaningful. Bryce is the ultimate Ace in the hole... Bottom line, his best is better than everyone else's. I can't help but imagine Kirby is feeling the way CNS felt in 2016 when he rolled into the game with that version of Jalen hurts vs that version of DeShaun Watson.... RTR!

As good as Georgia D is Bama also has the best player on the field on that side of the ball with Will Anderson.

Honestly I am just poking at Josh and BamaFan334. I am very concerned about this game. Expect it to be a much more challenging game. I have seen things like this before with someone like Bennett have a good game but a throw a couple of interceptions then come back and play a perfect game and be the hero. Hope that does not happen here. If Georgia gets the running game going or Bennett has that game it will be hard to overcome.

I was referring to both Bryce & Will in that original comment... So we are definitely on the same page there!

And yeah, Bennett could finally take that next step. History is on our side but there's also the chance he's going to play the best game he's ever played. I love how the D has improved and just hope those youngsters at CB can hold up...And the DL can make things a lot easier for them... But I'd be really surprised if it wasn't a close game either way. I'm pumped to see how the fellas take on the challenge!

This game will definitely be a challenge, but there are certain things you can be assured Kirby will not do this time around. For starters, he absolutely will not put Bennett in a position to lose the game with poor throws. Now Bama can dictate that a bit, but expect a heavy dose of Washington and Bowers. I for one feel that a huge key to winning this game is limiting Bowers production. Without him, jaw's offense is anemic at best. He moves the chains and keeps that offense moving. Additionally, I expect more from the running game in the form of their heavy package (Washington and Bowers on the field togerther and a bigger role from Pickens. I believe he's still trying to figure out that knee, so he will make some plays but mentally he's not ready to really push his limits.

As far as our offense, losing Metchie is big. I know we have other guys but Metchie is an NFL receiver playing against college players. I expect Saban to leave nothing in the tank. Every advantage will be explored for this one game. Bolden, Brooks, Hall, Leary and Earle will have to step up and I honestly believe they can but they have to take that next step mentally. Waddle wasn't the biggest but he used his speed and willingness to give up his body to his advantage and it created a nightmare for opposing coaches. Next, we all know Georgia is going to blitzing to confuse Bryce and make him uncomfortable in the pocket. The o-line has to hold up, Bryce has to use his legs more often this game and BoB has to scheme for this certainty. We can use tempo to tire them out like last time and hopefully have a quick snap call to get a free 5 yards when they try to substitute. Additionally, I'm still a believe in the Milroe package. Jawja is vulnerable to a running QB, especially if they are tired. Keep it simple with the RPO game, but make their a$$ tap out coach! I promise they will not be ready for it!

Finally, Kirby has set his team up for failure even before the first snap. His message about them beating themselves is arrogant and misleading. They didn't beat themselves last game, they got beat by a good opponent. If they come in with that arrogance after beating a Michigan team that clearly didn't belong in the CFP, then they will get punched in the mouth. So, let's get ready for a battle and Roll Tide fellas!

I don’t think georgia is going to get 400 yards Monday as mentioned in a previous thread but I am concerned about Bowers catching the ball on some slant routes and then running free for another ten yards. The slant is hard to defend but seems as though we have more trouble than most.

Still, georgia doesn’t stretch the field so as long as we can hold the run game in check I think we are in good shape.

Not sure how Pickens is feeling but they don’t scare me with their receivers.

That's all fine and dandy, but just because the roulette wheel hits red twenty times in a row doesn't mean black is coming next. What Bear did has zero to do with what Saban is doing. What Stabler and Namath did has zero to do with what Bryce is doing. What Derrick Thomas did has zero to do with what William Anderson is doing. It's great for the fans and gets us hyped up, but it's all independent of one another.

That being said, Saban will have his team ready, he's proven that. The Clemson Natty where we got smoked is an example that even Saban can lose and fail, and that's ok. But continuing to use the crimson jerseys and numbered helmets as your base is just faith rather than football sense.

It's ok for Josh and myself to share where we feel we can lose the game, it's called analysis. I think we win, but I also see spots where we could lose.

Yep, Washington, Bowers, and my unknown X-Factor to many, Kenny McIntosh. Those three guys will be the fuel behind Georgia's offense. I warned about Bowers Game 1. Washington has proven to be a short yardage threat, but no one to hit in stride or deep. McIntosh is a tough hard nose runner with hands that can hurt in the passing game. He's probably the best running back Georgia has in my opinion and I have said that for the last three years. He's a lot like Jase McClellan to me, tough to tackle, quick, good hands, and can make plays.

If we can limit two of those three, we gonna be ok. Pickens is a deep threat that likes to highpoint the ball and has the height and agility to go get it. You're right about the knee, we haven't seen him catch in stride and take off, so if Jackson can get on him there a lot less of a threat there due to similar size and ability. If Kool-Aid learns to turn his head he's gonna start making ten times more plays. We need him to turn that head Monday night.

Do you believe a company has a culture? If so does it have a real impact on the companies success? Also, you hear even coaches say they can't lose the game before it starts because of the jersey the other team wears. Is that just coach speak or is it part of the real intangible that can impact the game? CNS is the master at the mental part of this game. Surely that is real and makes a real difference in games.

BTW I never said the jersey alone does it by itself. If I based it just on that sure that is just blind faith. It does take great coaching, talent and hard work. The culture and standard demand that these three exist at Bama. That is where the excellence of the past comes into play in my view. If they do not have all three sure they can lose just look at the days between Stallings and Saban.

As I type this I am watching the replay of this years LSU and Bama game. If we play that way it could be more close to what JoshB is saying. I just think the problems we were having then have been corrected.

Georgia's offensive approach hasn't changed a bit since we saw Kirby take over the UGA program. How is he, at the flip of a switch, "not going to put Bennett in a position to lose" when they're running the same approach?

Company culture is brought amongst leaders that are with companies for MANY years and groom the next ones. That does not happen in college coaching because there is so much turnover that the culture changes. Nothing more evident than after Stallings left to when Saban arrived. If it did work like you're describing then Texas, Nebraska, and Tennessee wouldn't be where they are.

Definitely college speak when talking about the other team's jersey before the game. Sure, you can say that about Alabama right now under Saban, but who else is saying that about anyone else? The 60's culture and appeal has not translated to 2021/2022 because there are no ties and it's a different ball game. Georgia is not scared of us because we're Alabama and what Bear did, they'd be scared of us because they know Saban produces a team that is ready and capable. They have played us close a number of times, so they aren't scared. Once again, we are not successful simply because we are Alabama. We are successful because we went out and paid the best in the business to come in and install his method and it worked out. He had zero ties to Alabama, and the kids he recruited had nothing to do with the success in the 60's and 70's. Teams aren't folding against us in the second half because of the color of our uniforms, it's because of things like the 4th Quarter program. Alabama has the richest history in all of college football. The fans love their school, their coaches, and their players. Some misconstrue that as we're always good so just watch out, but that's not the case as we're beatable and not perfect. It's all independent of one another and is a yearly deal with how each team prepares.

@BamaFan334 @mando

I'll dare argue that, given the comments and reports we've seen over the last week from the UGA side, in any other context (different game or different teams) we'd see a lot suggest Georgia is trying to talk themselves into the ability to win a game against Bama. It's not a situation where they're walking in believing they can win: they've nothing to support those beliefs.

What I find interesting about this game goes back to last season. Since the loss Bama took in 2007 they've reeled off seven in a row against UGA. Out of those seven every one has taken place in Athens or in Atlanta: Georgia's back yard. The only one that didn't offer that advantage? Last season's loss against Bama—the only true road game for the Bulldogs out of those seven contest. They were blown out.

IF we choose to take the route that Georgia eliminates their mistakes we also have to chose Alabama can do the same. With that being the case we have two evenly matched teams. How do you judge a contest like this when we're dealing with two fairly evenly matched teams?

It's starts at the top with the head coach. Where does the advantage lay here?
Next stop? Quarterback. Where does the advantage lay here?

Throughout this season leading into the SECCG there were questions often repeated: what happens when Georgia faces a dynamic offense? Can their offense keep up?

We got these answers in ATL but like a lot in the media it's as if that game didn't occur.

What happens when UGA faces a dynamic offense? Based on what we've seen versus speculated they can't keep up. But, we're in the midst of a prevailing notion Georgia is going to change their offense over a week.

It's hard to change offense in almost a month. Right now, they're hoping for a break which results in 14 points. I still think Bama will try and spread the Georgia defense out. Make it hard for them to blitz occasionally.

Georgia's offensive approach hasn't changed a bit since we saw Kirby take over the UGA program. How is he, at the flip of a switch, "not going to put Bennett in a position to lose" when they're running the same approach?
He had an opportunity to do so with JT Daniel and he fumbled that as well. His reputation with handling QB will take a huge hit... Especially if they lose Monday night.
