Yeah, because we all know if you don't blow someone out, then you don't really win.

Go ask those national champions if the score actually mattered when they won. ALL of them will answer "NO!"...because it doesn't matter. A win by 1 point or 100 is still a win. And BAMA winning by "only" 3 points still gives Missouri an SEC loss and BAMA another SEC win. And that's all that matters.
 
Is it really a question about bama falling off? Of course they have. Only have to watch games to be able to say that. Is it bad? No but not as dominating as they were at the peak of CNS. This is not surprising post GOAT.

At the risk of pissing on your parade.

When did one of Saban's teams beat three teams, that were ranked, in a row? You'll likely have to go to post season games because I don't think he did it in the regular season.

Not pissing on my parade since I am not in a parade.. Not sure why people ever thought there was not going to be a dip post CNS. Not planning on researching because not sure it matters. I see with my eyes what I see like a CKD coached teams losing to non top 25 teams when they were favored to win by double digits.

Does not mean CKD is not a good coach or that the Bama team is not good. They are not great otherwise they would be drilling teams like Vandy and Mizzou and not just winning. Another data point, to prove the point is giving up an average of 150+ yards per game rushing on D..

This is not meant to be a knock it is just reality but it was expected at least from me. Not going to plug and play coaches like Bear and CNS. Saying that I still believe CKD can win just not at the same pace. I even think he will likely win a NC but again not to the same degree.

Would you agree though that even with Saban... all the changes that have happened in the game from openly paying players whatever (better rosters across the league and nation) to expanded playoffs (harder to win the title)... things were not going to be the same anyway?

What are the chances we see another coach with the same record against ranked opponents like we're seeing with DeBoer?

I see no reason to continue with "does not mean he's not a good coach." We know that already. He is.

I'm still thinking you're stuck in 2011 with expectations. Others saw a defense that cut Missouri in half yesterday; literally.

Dont know if this team is great...sometimes it takes getting late in season before greatness appears....but.....great seasons are built....on...winning games.......ans surviving others...

That was a great sign yesterday....a game we had in hand to win easily...and letting it get away...by a couple of bad series...but hanging on to win...

I'm betting we would have lost this game with last year's team.
BTW, if Milroe had went 23/31 for 200 yards 3 TDs & no picks, we would have been ecstatic!
Now, in just a few games it's "Well.... Ty was off & didn't play his best game"
