| FTBL BAMA back in the GA Dome in 2010? Looks like it...

With the direction that Alabama is headed, come 2010, I don't care if we play Duke on an abandoned XFL field in Mayberry while watching 'Bull Durham' on the jumbo tron.

just my .02

Yeah! I just read this. :) I love it. It will be great exposure recruiting wise. Don't think Saban won't have every recruit even thinking about Alabama from the state of Georgia, S. Carolina, N. Carolina and surrounding areas in attendance.

Like many mentioned we were going to have to travel to this game anyway, and Atlanta is a heck of a better situation than Raleigh-Durham. These tickets should be a LOT easier to come by for us Atlanta Bama fans as well (as compared to the Clemson game).

Very excited about this one. ;tr

Not a good move if true.... help's Duke not us.

How do you come to that conclusion Step? Surely, you don't think there are THAT many Duke football fans?

looked at it like.... it would help Duke recr. better and give them good exposure but we really don't have anything to gain, from a program perspective....however, it is better than going to Durham tho.

Actually, I think the program gains good exposure with Atlanta area high school players. The area is a hotbed of talent. I bet the coaches at AU are not liking us playing in their "secondary market" twice. This, in my opinion, is a win-win.

I see both points here. The exposure in ATL for Bama is a move I like. Exposure for Duke brings questions to mind.

Since it's in the Ga. Dome, does that automatically translate to TV? TV, more so, than a JP game at noon? I can't see CBS picking it up. I can't see ESPN picking it up in Primetime either. Unless, Duke has some miraculous break-thru in the next two years.

Cut is a decent coach. However, when I think about Spurrier winning a title at Duke I just can't picture Cut being in the same league. And, that's not even mentioning what the league was like, in terms of talent, when Spurrier was the HC. FSU was non-existent, Miami wasn't in the league. Clemson had a decent program. Who else was there that actually provided the Duke program competition?

TBS/SportSouth pick up the game? Fox maybe?

Well it helps ME and as far as I'm concerned, that's the only one that matters.

Clemson in '09 and Duke in '10. That does greatly help make BAMA a familiar "brand" in Atlanta, but are we losing SC and NC exposure? I'm not sure how to weight that one out.

If Atlanta is their secondary market, then I guess south Florida is their primary market. That would make the recruiting area in adjacent Alabama tertiary, yes?

PPV probably, like the Tulane game in the Super Dome in 1992. As I recall, Bama had about 30K in attendance at that game. So let's put 60K in the Georgia Dome in 2010! Heck, let's fill the place up! If we can do it for an A-Day game, we should have no trouble with a regular season game.

I really don't see this game being televised. It seems like an odd game to play in ATL. I realize they would've had to travel anyway but...Duke in ATL?

Better than playing at their stadium........and a lot faster for area Bama fans. Two good reason. This is the home game for them in the series, correct? If so, refer to the first sentence.
