How do you come to that conclusion Step? Surely, you don't think there are THAT many Duke football fans?

looked at it like.... it would help Duke recr. better and give them good exposure but we really don't have anything to gain, from a program perspective....however, it is better than going to Durham tho.

Actually, I think the program gains good exposure with Atlanta area high school players. The area is a hotbed of talent. I bet the coaches at AU are not liking us playing in their "secondary market" twice. This, in my opinion, is a win-win.

If Atlanta is their secondary market, then I guess south Florida is their primary market. That would make the recruiting area in adjacent Alabama tertiary, yes?

I see both points here. The exposure in ATL for Bama is a move I like. Exposure for Duke brings questions to mind.
Since it's in the Ga. Dome, does that automatically translate to TV? TV, more so, than a JP game at noon? I can't see CBS picking it up. I can't see ESPN picking it up in Primetime either. Unless, Duke has some miraculous break-thru in the next two years.
Cut is a decent coach. However, when I think about Spurrier winning a title at Duke I just can't picture Cut being in the same league. And, that's not even mentioning what the league was like, in terms of talent, when Spurrier was the HC. FSU was non-existent, Miami wasn't in the league. Clemson had a decent program. Who else was there that actually provided the Duke program competition?
TBS/SportSouth pick up the game? Fox maybe?

I really don't see this game being televised. It seems like an odd game to play in ATL. I realize they would've had to travel anyway but...Duke in ATL?
