OH! As am I!!! That nine million buyout for Avery should cause pause in a lot of folks. And, while it's no panacea to the disappointment we all feel I don't believe we can simply ignore a roster that's the third youngest in D1 with a coach in his third year in collegiate ball.
I'll tell ya...a lot of that reminds me of what we read about Braxton in the off-season. I knew he was returning while a lot of the media were ignoring what other players were saying. What struck me as noteworthy was the feeling Avery was in a learning process on how to deal with kids who have had their expectations built up beyond reality.
On another note...it's interesting to me how people pointed to the '07 football season and how close those losses were while thinking about '08. But, I've not seen but a couple point to the seven games lost by six or fewer points--both situations about learning how to close out games.

Bama could have scheduled as many Quad 4 teams as FSU and would be sitting with how many wins? We're left with seeing a young team struggle at times through a tough schedule. These are things I feel deserve attention.
A lot of my view comes from the fact I'm an avid golfer. It's never about one hole, or a series of holes.
