šŸ“” Auburn offensive line coach Herb Hand leaving for Texas

Auburn is losing an assistant coach.

Auburn offensive line coach Herb Hand will leave to become Texas’ co-offensive coordinator/offensive line coach, college football insider Brett McMurphy reported on Tuesday. The news has been confirmed by SEC Country’s Benjamin Wolk.

Hand joined the Tigers’ staff before the 2016 season after working as Penn State’s run-game coordinator and offensive line coach during the 2014 and ’15 seasons.

Hand played a major part in helping shape Auburn’s offensive lines during his time on the Plains. The Tigers led the SEC and were sixth nationally in rushing during the 2016 campaign. Auburn finished fourth in the SEC in rushing last season by averaging 218.3 yards per game on the ground.

The Tigers finished 10-4 this season, capped by a loss to UCF in the Peach Bowl on Jan. 1.
