What the different between Harsin and Freeze? Last summer, Auburn tried their best to fired Harsin for being friend with a lady? Freeze about the same? He also tries shutting up someone at Liberty?

Did any of you guys think William wasn't going to be part of Freeze coaching staff? I'm betting he was told that he has to keep him!

Just went and looked... this would worry me a bit if I was an auburn fan... Freeze's record in November at both Ole Miss and Liberty is 15-19. Some really bad losses in there when you should be playing your best football.

This is the thing people are omitting. People are so focused on his success vs Saban early in the year, and complete forget his problems later in the season. Even this year alone at Liberty, he had very questionable coaching decisions that led to losses against Virginia Tech and UConn, and nearly Gardner-Webb. Then he lost just last week to New Mexico State by 28.

The Auburn media is full of complete fucking buffoons. Barner "blogger Barrett" Sallee will do everything in his power to not allow negative press towards Auburn. He has championed the Auburn program as the best available coaching destination all season, yet couldn't hire away Kiffin, who was their #1 sought after coach. They since settled with a guy that Ole Miss instead had to fire. Guys like him who cover Auburn will immediately block you if you bring up Freeze's November record.

As others have said, he was a 100% stone cold lock to be retained. And lucky for him it was Freeze and not Kiffin who got the job, because Kiffin would have likely gotten tired of him quickly.

He won't have to in this case, Freeze will happily keep them in the loop. That's one reason they pushed for him (and guys like Steele in the past).

Sallee seems like a decent guy, but he is absolutely terrible at his job. He would be much better served working for an auburn recruiting site like rivals or 247 where he could just cover them and fanboy out without even trying to hide it. If all else was equal, his constant ball washing of the Braves during baseball season is bad enough though....

The one thing I'll add, Dan Lanning was their #1 target (at least he was Cohen's #1). Lanning turned them down with a quickness, privately and publicly (sort of), and then attention turned quickly to Kiffin.

MSU folks say he was at the end of his line there... similar to what the Allen Greene situation was at auburn... he was looking around for another spot.
