Good point about Oregon. They should be asked to join the SEC just because of the cheerleaders Just.....wow.....

For some reason, I'm thinking the team that Bush ran didn't do very well financially.

I don't follow the MLB close enough to tell you "jack-squat" about who is winning what division much less how a team is doing financially.

Then we have what I can only call the "owner mentality" when it comes to running a franchise. Some spend and win, some don't spend and lose—but I seldom hear either lose money.

Just an idle thought on what it might be like...

This is different from basketball. 68 teams invited in hoops, but realistically there are only 10, give or take a couple, teams that have a shot at winning it all. There is occasional bellyaching about being left out, but anyone who has a real shot at winning it all is dancing.

With only four teams involved in the football playoffs, there will inevitably be teams who would have a legit shot being left out. Something Terry posted last week went back and analyzed what might have happened over the BCS era had the new system been in place. The typical year had three easy picks, with lots of room for doubt about number 4. The committee's job will boil down to picking the 4th team most years.
