šŸˆ Anyone know about Ryan Williams?

Allen was a different breed. We’ve not had an alpha guy like him since he left
I think we had more of those during CNS tenure than you think. Alan was not the only one but was just on my mind since I saw the video posted of him talking in the locker room... This team needs an enforcer on steroids right now. Folks like McCarron would not tolerate mediocrity either... I am aftraid some of the real problem is the talent on the OL/DL. Then on D and DL it may be coaching. If that is the case there is only so much that an enforcer can do but at least he will get the most out of what they do have which I do not think is happening right now nor has it for the last several games.

I remember the player council sending a couple of freshmen home before the Natty against Notre Dame. Every championship team had at least one Alpha Dog. If there is one on this roster, I’d say it had to be Bernard or Brailsford! Haven’t seen one on defense!

There’s a reason Youve not seen one on defense…there is not one.

It's very difficult to have one a Defensive Alpha when the HC is an offensive minded coach because he doesn't want his offensive players banged up or get their ego's shattered.

I was hoping for Lawson or Keenan to be those guys on defense. And by some chance they were just off against FSU (IMHO FSU is legit.... that team was damn hungry after the last season & IF Keenan is THE guy on defense, that might explain the beleagured look of the defense without him), my expectation is a different defense. There's some perception that teams that can take coaching, they show the biggest gains from week 1 to week 2.

Perhaps, just maybe, this FSU game was exactly what everyone (including coaches) needed to get their mentality in check.

To add this: we all lose sight of the fact that beating Alabama is HIGH watermark for every player & coach out there. AS such, the guys on Alabama rosters from CNS tenure all had the notion that THE standard was what everyone was striving for, thus making who they play irrelevant. Play & practice to the standard NO MATTER who is on the schedule. To do this at the level that CNS did & for how long (lets admit.... CNS was slipping in his later years) is just remarkable. We must come to terms with this. To have a generational coach at any program is rare, to get TWO generational coaches is inconcievable. As much as I hate/despise that reality, it is reality.

So, we've had the "rare" and "inconceivable" with Coach Bryant and Coach Saban. What's believing for the next, Delusional ? šŸ˜›
