šŸ“½ /šŸŽµ Anybody watched any good new shows or series lately?

@Brandon Van de Graaff the second season of The Pitt is spot on.

I just checked another box off the Bingo card...damn. It's only the 17th of January. I did not want to see a black dick. No.

I have sausage in the skillet right now...this ain't fucking right.
That was a bit of a shock. I watched it last night and at that part I was like whoa WTF I don’t want to see some dude’s unit

If weird means good, this is good. It's definitely creative. Sci-Fi, about an AI bot enthralled with a TV show...it's the only place I know to start.

Murderbot isn't what it sounds like.

You don't want to watch the 2nd episode of Knight of the 7 Kingdoms then. No way that dude doesn't have some serious back issues. 😬
Seeing any form of nudity in a GOT sequel? In a strange sense it makes sense. I mean, dude. We had incest in S1E1 of GOT.

In a medical drama like this one? We grew up in the era of ER, and other knock off shows like that one. Sure, we saw some blood and other minor medical treatments in those series. But. BUT. With The Pitt? A whole NEW level of, "uggh."

The reoccurring character that's getting "drained?" Yeah, that didn't go with my Lima beans, ham, and rice last night...

Not surprised by the nudity in GOT by any means. As Stomp said not wanting to see some guys unit. This was above and beyond. I don't believe unit would be a proper pronoun for this one. šŸ˜›

I haven't watched E2 as of yet. Now...

I didn't watch any of House of the Dragon. I stumbled across this series. I had no idea they had made a version of this book in his series. I think it's titled "Dunk and Egg."

We watched His and Hers a couple weeks ago. Solid premise, horrible execution. And just when you think it was bad, they do the twist and make a mockery of all of it. Complete waste of time.

Last few nights I've been watching Alone Season 11 (Arctic Circle). Always enjoy those, this particular season is no different.

Fallout season 2 just ended
This is something I don't understand.

I have read many books where I was left disappointed when I saw the rendition of characters on the big screen. The Reacher character is one. The way Jack played his role in The Shining? NOTHING like the book!!

So, here where I'm lost...

Since Fallout is a video game and this is a series adapted from that game, do people get upset because "it's not like the video game character?" (Which, theoretically, could never been the same from game to film.)

Watching Schitt's Creek with my wife (she's rewatching it with me). This started when I made her watch Groundhog Day with me on Groundhog Eve, and she pointed out "the cameraman was on Schitt's Creek". I said, yeah, that's the guy under the seats on Letterman. She had never watched Letterman, I had never seen Schitt's Creek. We're working to correct our respective deficiencies in all things Chris Elliott.

Ditto with Forrest Gump. The character in the book was nowhere near the character Tom Hanks played in the movie.

My take?

Interpretation. How do you interpret a book? With your imagination. You take it in with your eyes and then your cognition takes over and plays the story or other information in your minds eye to create a "movie". Reading a book is an individual experience. Movies are created to satisfy many minds at the same time.

Movie. makers, producers, editors, directors and actors take liberties and stray from the original, written story line, with the intent to "enhance" your experience for you so that they do most of the "imagining" for the viewer.

When watching a movie, you process it through your vision and hearing. Very little, if any, imagination is needed to process what you are viewing.

I get what you're saying. It doesn't always work out that way.

Jack Reacher is 6'4" and 230lb+ in the books and they gave us Tom Cruise.

As I stated, liberties are taken when transferring a written story to tape.

I wonder, did you read the book first or see the movie first? Would it have made a difference to you either way?

Yeah, I see your point. I don't think they make second floor elevator shoes. Tom must have a good agent.

Forrest Gump was 6' 6" 242 pounds by 16 years old in the book and was a mathematical wiz (Savant).... They gave us Tom Hanks. Hanks did have Wilson in Castaway. Gump had a male Orangutang named "Sue" that he flew into space with in the book. šŸ˜›
