📽 /🎵 Anybody watched any good new shows or series lately?

I wonder, did you read the book first or see the movie first? Would it have made a difference to you either way?
Books. I can pick up one of Child's books and be done in an afternoon if nothing came up. Out of his...geez, more than two dozen Reacher books, I've probably read six to eight.

The first movie came out probably 15 years ago. It's been within the last five years since I watched both Cruise movies. The Amazon series led me to them (only to find out they were using camera angles to disguise heights in these series.) So yes, it did make a difference.

Forrest Gump was 6' 6" 242 pounds by 16 years old in the book and was a mathematical wiz (Savant).... They gave us Tom Hanks. Hanks did have Wilson in Castaway. Gump had a male Orangutang named "Sue" that he flew into space with in the book. 😛
I haven't read the book. I didn't know that.

IMO, worth a read, it's hilarious.
I never read it, figured it wouldn't live up to the movie where I feel the opposite on most books. I usually don't like the movie after reading a book because it leaves so much out and doesn't match what I imagined.

The Reacher series @TerryP referred to does a decent job whereas I could not get past Tom Cruise in the movie because so much of Reacher's character relates to his size.

While doing some book keeping and recovering all my data from MacBook Pro (water bottle tipped over on it and killed it).

Fell down a rabbit hole watching A Cut Above on prime. It’s a chainsaw carving competition, these folks are talented!!!!!!!!

Completely lost track of what I was doing and binged 8 episodes last night and going to finish it tonight.

Speaking of Apple ... earlier in the thread I linked Shrinking.

With all the complaints about remakes and reboots, nothing to watch on TV, etc., here's one that doesn't fall into either category. Like Ted Lasso, the storyline is new. While it's not your atypical "guy series," it's well done.

S3 debuted about a month ago.

When it comes to the subscription services (though I seldom pay or them) Apple TV has put out some good shows the last few years.
Yeah I’ve bought enough Apple products to keep Apple TV for free for anlmost another year. Get 3 months with purchase of Apple products. I’ve got iPhones, tablets, MacBooks…… so I think I’ve literally got at least 9-10 months left

Finally finished the latest season of Tulsa King last night. Just an unserious, fun, mind relaxing crime drama (with comedy). Trying to figure out if it's worth starting season 2 of Landman next. I heard it was slog up until the end of the season and focused even more on the annoying women. I can't deal with the latter.
