Didn't see any chrome. Maybe the designer was smoking chrome. I think the Navy helmets look good with the ships on the side, but don't like the idea of changing up the unis. I know the players like changing up things and I am not against it for some special game like a bowl game, but not during the regular season.

yeah i don't like the elephant logo. I was cool with the houndstooth trim before though... nice touch. I'm a big fan of the white leggings as i think they make the players look really sharp.
Crimson pants always look kind of high schoolish to me with the same color jersey. maybe if it was Crimson pants with a white Jersey and white helmet?

I think the chrome they mean is the elephant logo. The matte finish helmet and the jersey, ehhhh i don't mind that much. The red pants and facemask, hell no. I don't like the helmet logo either.

So long as Nick Saban is the HC Alabama will never wear anything outside the basic, traditional uni's. He's said plainly he believes there are certain programs in the country who have that "look" so to speak like Alabama, Notre Dame, Michigan, Penn St, etc. that need to maintain their traditional, familiar looks. God bless him for it IMO.
