🏈 An Eye on the Clemson Tigers

On a side note... Lower level endzone ticket to the NC game, $550. Mantheyve gotten high. That's face cost. My buddies got their email that they have 4 from Clemson. They asked me if I was interested in the 4th. If not they are going to turn it back in to the school.

Yeah, they have gone up. I paid 1/2 that to go to the LSU and Texas NC games. Top of the stadium 400 level's face is $450.

Since our bye week.... I looked back at our defense since we got that bye week after the UT game. As a team we were struggling a little going into that week as UT had us on the ropes. Since then, total domination. The numbers are skewed a little because Miss State really put up a ton of offense on us (which concerns me the most since they were the team with the QB that most compares to the Clemson QB). Pretty scary D.

Average Rushing Yards per game allowed - 51
Average Total yards allowed - 230
Average offensive points allowed - 8
Average 1st downs allowed - 12

*Mississippi State put up 393 yards of offense and had 20 1st downs. But only 6 offensive points.

Why do we have people on here that are saying we are scared of the Clemson? I don't think you will find one Bama players that will say it. That includes the one that will be seated. Haven't you ever heard the saying "Trust your car with the man that wear the Star!" In Bama case "Trust your team with the man that wear the A" I go into ever game know Bama will win the game.

In my opinion, Clemson's opponents make it hard to judge how good they are. The mediots jumped all over the OU bandwagon forgetting that they we're beating 2nd and 3rd string QB's.

Wofford (5-6)
Appalachian State (11-2)
Louisville (8-5)
Notre Dame (10-3)
Georgia Tech (3-9)
Boston College (3-9)
Miami (8-5)
NC State (7-6)
Florida State (10-3)
Syracuse (4-8)
Wake Forest (3-9)
South Carolina (3-9)
North Carolina (11-3)
Oklahoma (11-2)

@planomateo well, right after the Orange Bowl. I think, I may hear maybe two, maybe three, talking head saying that Sooner had played the last three teams with second or third string QB. But that after the Sooner got their head hand to them.

Just looking at numbers here, while supposedly working, I might add. Both BAMA and Clemson faced 1 Top 10 offense this season. Clemson faced 5 inside the Top 50, while BAMA faced 6. Defensively, Clemson faced 1 Top 10 defense, while BAMA faced 3 inside the Top 10. Inside the Top 50, Clemson faced 9, while BAMA faced 6. BAMA opponents compiled a 121-62 record (66%) and a 9-2 bowl record (82%), while Clemson opponents compiled a 97-79 record (55%) and a 2-5 bowl record (29%). Clemson played and beat 4 teams that were ranked inside the Top 25 at the time of the game. BAMA played 8 teams inside the Top 25 at the time of the game and went 7-1.

Idk if it's been mentioned, but I read Clemson is limited to 20 hours of practice a week because of their academic schedule. Alabama isn't limited because their Spring semester doesn't start until 2 days after the championship game.

That's a messed up rule but shouldn't have much of an impact considering so few days left. Figure seven days until the game, minus one for travel, Bama could technically get in 24 hours of practice, Clemson 20 ... by my math, at least, and math isn't my forte'.

To me this game is not about Alabama facing a mobile QB, but more Watson facing the Alabama defense. Our front seven is ridiculous this year...

Alabama has played some good QB's this year - Brandon Allen, Dak Prescott, Conner Cook, Jalen Hurd (meant Josh Dobbs), and Chad Kelly. (edit)

Wow. If they have received 10x more on Bama, shouldn't the spread widen?
I'm no Vegas odds expert by any sort. I've only bet on a handful of games in my life. Always won, though. I did, however, consult a boss of mine who was a heavy football better, weekly, for a couple years straight. I helped him go something like 62-8 over 2 seasons. He knew I was a coach and football junkie, and would ask me for help.

And actually, it's in my limited experience and opinion that oddsmakers typically close that gap when they're receiving heavy money on the favorite in order to generate more $ for the dog.

That would put more on the favorite. Bets are based on people believing Bama covers 7. A move to -5 puts more on favorite.

@planomateo, Matich is just trying to make it seem more interesting. We all know that in those categories listed, BAMA holds a 4-1 edge if going by numbers. Kanell, on the other hand, is just a DUMB ASS!!!I see it 4-1 BAMA edge, with offense being the only Clemson lean and IT AIN'T BY MUCH!!!
