🏈 GAME THREAD 🏈 Alabama vs South Carolina : 2:30 CT on ABC TV

Can someone help me understand why grubb called an awful game leading up to those final two possessions? Because my lord those two were a masterclass. Where was that all game? Credit goes to the players to because they turned it up and started executing much better. And how about D-Law!!! He stepped up today, need that from him for the rest of the season!!!! Defense, outside of a few bad plays, played well tonight. I still stand by what I said regarding Wommack and his situational play calling at times, he's got to be better at putting our guys in situations to succeed. That 4th&12 that South Carolina converted is unacceptable, and the blame falls on him for calling what he did. Again, he'll do something like that, then draw up a masterful blitz with the correct coverage behind it(remember the Justin Jefferson sack?) and get a sack off of it. It truly baffles me how both our coordinators can do this, lol. They stepped up and won at the end of the day, and that's all that really matters. But please, let's be smarter about what we call at times. Roll tide.

It's probably been said, but Simpson was about as accurate as Milroe in this game. Add in some drops and this was a recipe for disaster. The punt error put us in jeopardy, and the forced fumble brought us back. We edged out an incredibly ugly game. It was almost as ugly as Steve Spurrier's gait tonight. Almost.

When I watch Hill rumble for eleven yards on a toss sweep, my anger burns against every inside handoff undercut by a stunting D-lineman.

I have never seen a team ( that won) so physically whooped during a game except for the last 7 to 5 minutes of the fourth quarter..
I for one don't talk bad at any players that plays for Bama, but I see that change because of the NIL CRAP DEAL! Don't get me wrong about what I posted here. You and the other have the right to say anything about the way Bama play and the coaches too. I just don't care about it.

PS> This is why I watch all Bama game at my house and one will watch it with me.

I completely DIS-agree with this. There was nothing wrong with the D play calling this game.

Ha, that 4th and 17 or whatever it was and you have two linebackers dropping into coverage about seven yards deep and they convert due to zero pressure on their quarterback. Why not blitz those guys? Why are they dropping on a 4th and extremely long? Even if a quarterback runs you gotta think we have enough guys to come up and stop him before a 17 yard run. Those are the calls that concern me. Zero reason South Carolina should have scored even 22 points with how powerless they looked on offense. I'm not all that down on the defense, but this is exactly what concerned me was when the offense struggled. We got lucky.

i thought the DL stayed in their pass rush lanes better in this game than they have all year with the exception of a couple of busts. Sellers is something like 240 LBS so that is a load to tackle. He is going to make a few plays and he did. Still frustrates me but they have good players also and sometimes I forget or I am to dismissive of that.

I missed the last two and a half minutes of the game. Finally saw the replay of the game-winning TD. What in the holy hell was USCe #1 doing throwing his hands in the air instead of trying to tackle Bernard?
It was the only way they would get the ball back once we got the first down. Bama would have ran the clock down to the end before kicking what shouild have been an easy FG. Odds were not good either way once #5 got the first down.

Teams to do it all the time. Remember when Todd gurley ran it in for a touchdown in a game a few years ago when he was on the falcons(because of course it was the falcons)? He tried not to score, momentum carried him in. The defense gave him all the room in the world so that he would potentially score. No one went to tackle him. I can't remember what team it was, but they ended up winning the game because of it.
