🏈 GAME THREAD 🏈 The 2026 Bowl Games / CFB Playoffs: Indiana v. Miami

I was talking about a smart watch. NY day, two years ago, I turned the ringer off on my phone and haven't turned it back on since. If I don't see it's ringing, or don't see a text come in, I won't know until I check. I don't carry it around when I'm at home. Why would I want a smart watch, ya know?

By the way, turning the ringer off? One of my best decisions, period.

Simply not true. There is so much to watch it can be frustrating finding something because of all the choices. And knowing where some of the things are. I glanced at this earlier to see if something caught my eye. Free, through a free app, running through a $30 Chromecast to a monitor. Front page.

WAY too much for me.
There is plenty to watch. But is it worth it....I guess winter is tv paradise...

I kept saying tap the brakes on those on here claiming CKD as the next GOAT and he had not even coached the first game at Alabama. There was going to be a transition time. Logical comon sense stuff.
Every year is now transition time. In the past, you miss on a recruiting class and it would show up in two or three years, and the hit could be dampened by successive classes or the odd transfer. Now, you miss on portal period and you are screwed. Heck, you could land a group of good players, but if you lack the ability to develop them quickly and develop a team concept, you can still lose out. Two year S&C programs mean less...HS recruiting means less...talent evaluation is paramount....the ability to close that one-year contract is critical...and the ability to plug and play is the mantra.

Yeah and I hate this but nothing I can do about it but hope we have or find the coach that can navigate this new world better than anyone else at a place where we are at a signficant disadvantage due to overall $$ to spend. How do you truly compete with oil money?

The coach, bama brand and ability to create value in the NFL was a differentiator for Bama. We certainly have the Bama brand and tradition but not sure these kids care about anything other than $$ and themselves.

"It just means more" rings like a cracked bell.

Your "Thought For the Day" rings true here. I can imagine a Monday looking ahead to a game on Saturday and knowing little about the secondary because they are all brand new to Alabama. We can jump back 10 years and remember looking at the safety position and knowing Vinnie might be a weakness. Those days? By all indications those are about to be gone.

Is it fair to say "previewing games means less?" On the other hand, prop bets would mean less early in the season: few clues on how a player will do in a system with no references.

Hate it's not us in the game, but this is good for college football. Two fanbases that have dealt with years of sucking and falling short and now 60 minutes away. Cool feeling even watching on TV.
This might as well be an NFL game. I'll pop in a few times, but I split wood and burned my front bank today to rid myself of leaves, pine straw and duff ahead of landscaping. This, after a three-night guys weekend of shooting at CMP and then drinking/eating. I'm disinterested.

I'm already worn out from work for the week and coming straight home to more chores. I'm laying down for a few and watching. Put a few bills on Indiana to score more than 27.5.
