🏈 🏈 Spring camp, 2022: A-day Saturday at 2 CT

The guy likes to troll.. and its hard to tell if he's serious or not.
Hall's definitely missing...missing from practice comments when the wide receivers are being discussed. We know that Law and Anderson haven't been your typical true freshmen receivers and are more SEC ready than most. We know what they're getting with Burton and we've talked about Leary in this thread. These guys fit the role Hall could have in this offense. "He's moving down the depth chart" may be the best way to describe where he is right now.

I find it telling he's missing from practice observers comments and criticisms. It's almost dismissive (for lack of a better word.)

Big recruiting weekend...

Yeah, I wouldn't be shocked if he didn't participate in scrimmage this weekend. We'll know little more about the WR spots

I'm betting reports from Saturday read in this order of mention:

  1. Jahmyr Gibbs
  2. Jahmyr Gibbs
  3. Jahmyr Gibbs
  4. Jahmyr Gibbs

Any word on the rest of the depth chart there? I'm not too familiar with the injury issues but it will be interesting to see how that depth shakes out. If healthy, I would assume McLelan/Williams/Sanders? Although Sanders made great strides and might be the most healthy of all headed into fall... Personally, I'm enamored with Jamarion Miller... But his time is likely down the road.

I'm interested in what Nick will tell us about OL play,
Steen is the outlier. Who you see at a tackle position could easily take a guard spot in the fall. I don't expect to get a lot out of spring with this group.

The only new news is Tommy B.'s starting to fill the expectations of the staff now that he's healthy.

Well, maybe this to but we can't say it's unexpected. When we were talking about the offensive line several weeks ago McLaughlin came up as the starter coming out of spring camp (with Dalcourt's injury.) He's been getting a ton of reps. If you're wondering who his back up looks to be signs point to Ferguson. He's been getting a lot of praise so far.

Steen, Cohen, McLaughlin, Ekiyor, and Latham is my call for the fall.

About a week ago Saban mentioned how Dale had taken a leadership role on the field and had also been 'appointed' to the council. Word has DJ have a good camp this spring. I'm happy to hear that but still go back to the thought "he's not a three down guy. He's a run stopper. Are they thinking they'll get passing downs out of DJ this fall?

On the same note Tim Smith is having a good camp.

If spring translates to fall there's the answer for the interior defensive lines.

DJ came on towards the end of last year which was great to see! Can't remember if he had health issues or not earlier, but showed flashes of being a difference maker down the stretch. They've got him listed at 300 lbs currently which may be a good sign of having some more athleticism next season!

Between him & Smith as true inside guys and Byron Young & Eboigbe on passing downs, that's a nice combo of bodies & experience! I see Smith as the emerging star but Young as the overall best player on the line.

Have you heard anything about Ingraham, Goodwine, Latham, etc. any other guys making a move? I'm sure there will be an incoming freshman who turns heads as well.

Thanks for all your insight & info TP. Much appreciated!

Man, I'm sure him and the media hype it up more than anything, but does it eventually get to the point that Saban says enough is enough? Or does Saban not allow this petty stuff to bother him?
You're assuming Saban didn't know and/or give permission for Hall to be gone. We don't have the details, but I don't see Saban is the type of coach to allow the players to run the ship so I doubt his absence is being handled poorly by the staff... just my opinion.

No, I was just saying the continuous banter on social media from Hall and fans. Never seen a guy mess with his own fanbase like Hall. So eone mentioned Mack Wilson, but he was more of "look at my new shoes", not "y'all gonna miss me when I'm gone". At some point you just wonder if Saban tells him to shut up or pushes him out the door. He won't say it to the media, but there has to be some kind of limit and frustration with social media and the way he runs his program.
