🏈 🏈 PRE-GAME Thread: Alabama visits Texas A&M

but AnM wont be a cakewalk either...
Big noisey crowd....and they have good quality players....
Fact, or fiction? Can you name a game where the "12th man" actually made a difference for A&M since they've been in the SEC? According to the GameDay crew, the "intimidation factor" at A&M is, in fact, fiction?

A&M looks tough on defense but their QB situation makes it unlikely that they can stretch the field. They typically have a big and tough O-Line/ D-line and I know they have great specialist this year. We are a poor match up for them if we don't turn it over or kill drives with stupid penalties.

I do like to watch their stadium when they get it rocking and stuff, with all the cadets. Looks like it would be a fun atmosphere to play in.

Why I'm not worried about TAMU:
-They struggle to get the points on the boards against SEC teams if anything, I think they muster up 21 points against us.. but that's about it.
-Zach Calzada 5 TD, 4 INTs. Affect him early and often in the game and his performance will dip throughout the game.
-Make sure TAMU starts in their own Yards often because they do not have ability to sustain a long drive.
-Need to limit their running game to make sure TAMU is one-dimensonal team. Alabama defense must maintain intensity for 4 quarters. If we let them run wild, it will be a close game, and it's not because of the coaching, its because of Alabama poor execution in the game.
-TAMU isn't good on 4th down conversions.. I think we need a break from that for now. LOL
- I predict three things for Alabama defense:
A. I think Two players will have a huge game, and I think it's going to be secondary.
B. I think we'll record 4 sacks at least.
C. I think we'll see 2 interceptions.

Alabama 47-17

Building on this...

After having to replace four offensive linemen this season they lost one for the season last week: Matthews. I believe I read they lost a starting defensive back as well.

I generally put little into what “ the game day crew" has to say....

but the place can get loud ....

Has it given AnM any great advantage....dont really know....
But the crowd and noise affected Bama at Florida and Florida may not be all that great either and they gave Bama all they could deal with
...
So...hopefully wont have any adverse effect....

Has there been any news on any of the young DL guys? We know 2nd year players like Tim Smith and Jamil Burroughs have played already (and both played as true freshmen).

What about the other guys - any positive reviews on any?

Ja-Marien Latham
Damon Payne
Anquin Barnes
Monkell Goodwine
Tim Keenan

My only concern is that we normally have a letdown after a tough game. Our players were definitely "up" for Ole Miss. Hoping we do not see a letdown after this past weekend.

No idea if it will matter but this rat poison talk is creeping back in. A&M and their fans are hearing what Gameday crew is saying. What do you think that will do for them? Bama players are still young and still have (see D and tackling issues). A&M has 17 starters back I think I heard. No idea if accurate. I know they have struggled. We can't go and turn the ball over a bunch or have their QB with a Jerry Garcia type of day. Just need to prepare and go in and respect our opponent.

On the other hand, they've also heard all through the off-season how they were going to beat Alabama, they were national championship caliber, and all of this was coming from their head coach. And you mention "rat poison?" :)

Without Winston, Jimbo is an assistant coach. He's doing the same thing to A&M as he did to FSU and he's guaranteed 95 million for doing so.

I don't think the Ole Miss game ended the way the team wanted it to.

OM scored 21 2nd half points. Scored a late TD on a bogus PI call.

The last TD also only happened because the offense failed on a 4th and 1 run behind the left side of the OL. Saban did that on purpose, and the OL didn't answer the bell.

So...for 95 million....it must be thing to do....lol
