🏈 GAME THREAD 🏈 Alabama Wins 24-21 Thriller Over Georgia

Man, I was never a Ty hater by any means. Always had the “wait and see”, but quietly was skeptical all offseason. Saw a couple throws against ULM and Wisc that made me think “wow”, but wanted to see it against a quality opponent in a hostile environment. Ty was in complete control last night….i think the one gripe would be he’s trying to make adjustments too late in the play clock sometimes, and gets caught or has to spend a TO.

But you can tell he has a good football head on his shoulders.

It’s early in the season - not even October yet, but this a team that can clearly play with anybody.

Continue to improve every week - our Rushing offense needs to improve, as does our rushing defense.

CKD outcoached Kirby last night, and it was a beautiful thing.

@BamaFan334 I'll have to look at my messages to be sure.

A little over a year ago Casey made some shirts for a few of us: "Come And Take It." It was for the UGA game last season ...

Casey, I guess I need one that says, "Come And Take It 2.0."

I went outside a few minutes ago and my neighbor is still out on his deck: same place he was last night the last time I saw him. He told me, "I haven't been able to sleep." To which, "that's what you have to live with if you sleep all day after being out almost the entire night Friday."

SO ...

Since people have chosen to bitch about the FSU game, not 2 weeks, almost 4, that "24 hour rule" is out. In fact, I'll bet you someone mentions FSU in the next 24 hours.

Submitted with consideration:

I still got that box of them and need to mail to you.

They are scary because of their swagger... They believe in their players... they believe they can do anything they wanna do... those kind of people are people you don't wanna go up against... especially if your team doesn't... Bama has a real confidence problem going on on their sidelines..
I think disrespecting any team in the NIL era isn't a great move but Vanderbilt is just another team we gotta take down. They are much better than they have ever been but we can't hype them up..

I haven't spoken much this month because of some personal health issues and stuff going on this last month or so. I'll share those with everyone later this week. I do wanna talk a brief moment about the FSU game and this game.

FSU - Yes, Alabama was woefully unprepared on defense and they should've been more ready. The offense was also not clicking and Ty was trying to overthink and force reads at times. It was just one of those games you gotta throw your hands up at and say we played bad and we deserved to lose. After what we saw last night, we all gotta believe that the FSU vs Alabama team has learned and grown from their mistakes and cheer for the team we see now.

UGA - That was one of the Most Grubb/DeBoer offensive call games I've seen so far. It's clear last year that this offense was just not working for one reason or another whether it was personnel or play calling. I'm not sure, but it seems to be in a better spot right now and I hope that holds firm for the rest of this season.

Kane W did a great job this game and the defense did an amazing job in the 4th quarter IMO. Last year I felt he didn't have the personnel or the scheme fully implemented to do what he wanted and it hurt us. I also saw today a lot of in-game adjustments that we didn't get as much last year. I'm starting to think that he couldn't adjust as much or he didn't feel comfortable with them as much at the time, either way I felt he was stellar.

All the guys played their hearts out and if Ryan Williams can get over this case of the drops we might have the deadliest receiving corps I've ever seen at Bama and on top of that the TEs are looking Stellar. I said prior to this Edwards and Brooks were big targets for us and you are all seeing why, they are playmakers even as True Freshman and people had them very low on their rankings. Another reason that we shouldn't just look at the recruiting rankings as much anymore. Talent and the ability to develop it, is what DeBoer and Crew can do, we just gotta put faith in them. They may not have us in the top 3 all year every year but he's a great coach and deserves our patience and respect.

Any updates on Russaw? I missed the play where he got hurt?
I don't think ANYONE watching on TV saw it (or knew about it). Why?? Because ESPN is too busy showing 97 different shots between plays to be bothered with actually covering a game.
I'd love to hear how their producers are trained. I'll bet the meeting starts with" When the play starts, do a close-up of the assholes with spikes on their shoulders, cut to a close up of kirby, and then go to a commercial."
I know I sound like @Scrape&Search1032 when he's pining for Schueman, but I really miss CBS. I know Gary could be a pain in the ass, but we would have known & seen the injury in real time or shortly after.

who are potential replacements?
Pierre did a great last night, but what about potential depth?

It hurts, bad. I listed Russaw as one of the most important players on defense before the season. The EDGE/Wolf room wasn't stacked with experienced pass rush talent to begin with, but he certainly has the ability to be an impact player. Losing him is bad. But as mentioned on the Good, Bad, Ugly thread, it is compounded by the recent loss of Jemerian Lathem (neck injury/surgery) too... that's 1st and 2nd string wiped out within days of each other at a position that was thin to begin with. Yhonzae Pierre is the next man up and he got a lot of snaps last night. Looks like Justin Hill will be the backup now... he played about 20 snaps last night.
