Caleb Downs is one of the best players in the CFB There's no lies about that. however, I don't know if it's because of the system that's he is thriving in and the change of the scheme scared him as it may have exposed something about him as a player? is it that he may have reached his ceiling as a player... I don't know. I have a feeling that he'll struggle at Georgia or OSU. Don't forget he had several games where he made plenty of mistakes.I don't know I have a theory right now and I think I'll share in a bit. I might be wrong.
because we want to ruin your day either way.Why do people keep posting info on our players in this thread? This is the
2024 Transfer Portal Thread - Players from other schools who are transferring
thread.
There is already a thread about our players transferring that I am trying to avoid because it ruins my day every time I go there.
See the last line.... That's why we don't need to fret ..
If anything, I believe he'll do better at UGA, since Kirby took Saban's defense and simplified it a bit.Caleb Downs is one of the best players in the CFB There's no lies about that. however, I don't know if it's because of the system that's he is thriving in and the change of the scheme scared him as it may have exposed something about him as a player? is it that he may have reached his ceiling as a player... This, and I think it's going to be ongoing issue with him whenever he lands next.He was always vulnerable deep. Michigan missed a few due to McCarthy not being a polished passer. He's a lot like Jordan Battle. He's hell on wheels coming up into the box, but struggled deep. Still a superb player, but it's what I noticed during the year.
Would Bama wait to see what happens with Michigan and LSU before they load up with players?
Maybe this has been explained before so forgive me but there is one thing I still don't understand but it relates to Bond and Texas. Aside from the fact the dude is completely money motivated and a bit of a head case, wouldn't the Lambo given to him not qualify as an out and out inducement? I mean, that's not a NIL thing unless he just became the most less than articulate spokesman for a local Lambo dealership in Austin. Didn't FSU just get nailed for something less than this? It just reminds me of that LSU former player handing out bills after the National Championship game somewhat and a big deal was made of it. Now we have schools/boosters handing out Lambos and nothing to say about it?
Apparantly not because people miss it when I do it .
Maybe with a tray of avacodo dipRecruiting is a cold business. Just curious how y'all think it will go over with the players IF after DeBoer has asked players to give him a chance, IF come Spring, he has to "run off" players for better suited players.
To me Downs is a first rounder wherever he goes. I felt as a freshman he was as good as anyone we have come through the program. This guy will be missed and he will make where ever he goes better immediatley. There's a way to do that with honest conversations, where you are not forcing a player out... But numbers should be down enough at that point where it isn't an issue. More Bama guys are likely headed out now. A few more will leave in the spring... Bama's already below the 85 limit and sitting pretty in terms of roster flexibility.
