And since this reminded me of that game, I feel I should share two instances that perfectly encapsulated Manti Teo's night. Guy was a good linebacker, but he faced a different animal that night. Our o-line and RB's tore his ass up that entire game. Guy couldn't shed off a block to save his life, and when he was free'd up.... this happened.

I was glad to see Roberts is returning. I had been wondering about him. I don’t think he ever returned after he got hurt in the Michigan game. Anyone know how serious his injury was and if he will be good to go by spring?

Roberts was dealing with a number of issues, none serious, but pretty much all season-lingering. Just one of those years with bad luck for him where he kept getting dinged. He tried, and usually did, play though it, but at times had to be pulled. He should be all good by spring I believe.

On his (and others really) decision(s) to return, they had let the staff know early last month. The good news though is that they all stuck with their decisions, because they had other teams in their ears and a couple of them did get some positive feedback from NFL circles, including Roberts. He specifically can get healthy and improve his stock even more with another season though, which is the goal.

One other thing I'll mention that IMO is significant... most of these guys that decided to return are not DeBoer's recruits. They were all (other than the transfers) Saban guys. It wasn't a great season by Bama standards and any of them could have turned the page for a fresh start elsewhere for their final year (and taken some good $ doing so)... as mentioned, a couple could have easily jumped to the NFL. Instead, every one of them stuck by their plans to return, which says a little bit about the buy-in to this staff.

So someone correct me if I’m wrong, but by my count we will have one final player, in Latham, who will have experienced a national championship season, having redshirted in 2020?
