Let me say, Leigh has done a great job this year, so I'm not getting down on him here. But.....

Am I the only one who was glad we could get a touchdown on 3rd down last night? There was something about last night, for me, that didn't want to see the game come down to a field goal. It may have been the missed kick earlier, the extra points that he pushed to the right, or the kickoff that went out of bounds at the 25.

Somewhere in my mind, I kept thinking about the Tennessee game. How karma would have been a ***** last night with a blocked game winning field goal.

I'm glad Saban wanted that pass play.

Tiffen has done good most of this year but the reason you were uneasy about him kicking is because we all know he has struggled his whole career to be consistent.

I think he wouldve made it easily, but then Auburn only needs a field goal to win the game. It only takes one good return and a good pass to get into position to win the game. Going for the touchdown on third down only had the risk of stopping the clock.

On 4th down we probably kick the field goal.

Coach Saban had the right idea, McElwain played it to safe again.

I guess you mean the 2006 Arkansas game in Tiffin's freshman year, right? Although he wasn't as crisp as in prior games, Tiffin still hit on two of three (the miss may have been blocked) and ended the regular season 27 for 31, or an 87.1% success rate. He holds to two highest single season FG totals in Bama history, and his season accuracy this year trails only Doyle's 22 for 25 (88%).

Some Bama fans do live in the past. Are you one of them?

I didn't want it to come down to a FG either. Tiffin's kicks looked to be sailing to the right yesterday. I'm glad Saban called in the rollout play action to Upchurch. EVERYONE was expecting run and Saban dials up a PA to Upchurch! Loved it!

We're very fortunate to come out of there with a win but in the end the better team won. That last drive over all that adversity during most of the game is what championship teams are made of.

I hope the players can heal up and rally up for one last big fight against another SEC opponent. We CAN beat Florida if we play like I know we can. We will lose if we play like we did yesterday. This team is something special!

I was hoping for the 6 points as well. Not because I had lack of confidence in Tiffin, but because I did not want to see the poor kid have that huge amount of pressure put on him. Anything can happen, especially when thrown in the fire to kick the game winning FG.

whats really strange is about 2 plays before the td i mentioned to a member of my family that i would like to see if they get inside the 5 them put cody in as a blocker for a decoy and throw a PA. once i saw upchurch in the backfield and not trent i knew it was gonna happen. But in all honesty after watching the last fg he kicked in the game i was not worried in the slightest if we needed to kick a fg. I was more worried about auburn having too much time left and having another breakdown in coverage

Tiffin has kicked well this year, nobody disputing that.

I can only remember 2 instances where Tiffin has had to kick game winners..... Ark he couldnt even hit an extra point (yeah his freshman year) and last year at LSU he had another chip shot. Each time has resulted in a terrible kick. Do I think he would have made the gimme FG last night. YES. Did I want to see him have to make it. NOOOOOO!!
