Don Hutson would have put up numbers that would have made Jerry Rice look like a Practice Squad player had he played in the NFL with modern day rules and QB talent (yes, even given the improved abilities of DBs and D-coordinators).

The man put up unreal numbers. Many records lasted from the 1940s until Rice broke them in the 1990s.

And, from what I have read and heard, Hutson was not too bad at Alabama either.

You know, for a team not known to throw the ball, Alabama has had some pretty good WRs. Newsome, Hutson, David Palmer, and (as short as his career was) Prothro. Would take that group in a four-wide package today. Even Julio might have trouble getting on the field.
