so if you were creating a team made up of all the players Coach Saban has coached while at ALABAMA....who would you have at each position? if you're so inclined...please put your starters and backups.

WOW!! This would take me maybe a day or so just to pick a team! But this is a great question! But you should have one requirement. Make it so we all don't pick from this team. Beacuse we all know Tua will be our QB! Well not me I'm thinking about another one to lead my team!

Almost all of your picks work for me except one. While I love me some Barron, if we have a third S(presumably for the nickel and dime packages), it has to be Minkah. I might also replace Javy with Marlon at the other corner. Already got Javy down for PR/KR, so not like he is being kicked off the team.

OFFENSE:
Tua/AJ

LS Cole Mazza

2nd Team Special Teams:

PK Adam Griffith
P P.J. Fitzgerald
LS Carson Tinker

Sad thing is that there too many missing and it hurts to leave them out. The people I've left off would make a dominant team under Saban as well, especially on defense.

Notable cuts:

Reggie Ragland, TJ Yeldon, Damian Harris, Denzell Devall, Terrence Cody, Robert Lester, Anthony Averett, Ardarius Stewart, Jalston Fowler, Jesse Williams, Nico Johnson, geez...it goes on and on.

*I know Eddie only returned punts but I need that guy on my team and I couldn't leave Mark Barron off. Touch that thang, 4(or "folk", who cares, it works).

As I read through these lists - and all good and with good reasoning - it amazes me how much the game has changed during Saban's tenure. On offense going from ground and pound to more and more passing, but even more so on defense, going from big, space-eating monsters among the front seven (Cody, Jesse, Rolando, Dante, etc.) to leaner, quicker guys now (Reuben, CJ, Da'Ron, Quinnen, etc.).

Yeah you're probably right there, Minkah's versatility would probably put him over Javy for me. I'd want that combination of thumpers (Landon, Barron) with a safety thats great in pass coverage (HaHa), though. Minkah would fit the bill there, too. Def. can't leave him out.

Serious question - So far this season, has there been a DL as disruptive as Q Williams? If were going by best seasons he would have to be in the convo (if the production continues)

And speaking of production... Irv Smith is on a nice pace.

This may not be super popular but I think Ragland may have been a better player than Hightower... But thought Mosley was 2nd only to McClain... Although both were taylor made for their particular era of football

I think McClain showed up more ready but that Mosley was the best by the time he left.

All Saban team... it's gotta be the Washington Redskins. ;)
They're definitely stacking em up over there...

- Jonathan Allen - DT
- Ryan Anderson - OLB
- HaHa Clinton-Dix - FS
- Shaun Dion Hamilton - ILB
- Arie Kouandjio - OG
- Da'Ron Payne - DT

And now after they traded for HaHa they have two of the top 5 rated safeties in the league (per PFF).

Possibly! Back in Ro's day it was a much more physical, run predicated style of play. When CJ came on it was the start of the HUNH craze... Had to cover a lot more ground with less breaks. Both were dominant players... CJ was amazingly well rounded.

I remember when CJ was first on the field, he was everywhere but had hands of stone. Once he finally got to where he could catch the ball, he became the best overall LB to that point.
