🏈 All four QB's got reps last night...

I'll just make a blanket statement and let you guys know the weight gain thing is total BS. He needs to get stronger but his weight gain will not and is not an issue to prevent him from playing. He is already at 203. He can pack on 10 more lbs and his optimal weight (so he can still run like he does) @ 225 max 230. This frail talk is ridiculous quite frankly. He is fine and is packing on lbs as we speak. But to say he cannot compete at the QB position because of just that is not correct.

Bro, we need someone more durable than a wet noodle. Until be puts on 30 pounds of good weight to take more of a beating, he'll break like a twig after a 2nd or 3rd good hit from a mid-level SEC D-lineman.

If it wins, I could care less how many passes we attempt! JUST WIN BABY!!!

At the first HS that I coached at, we once had a game with 67 offensive snaps. 60 runs and 7 passes. Our feature back had 40 carries for 265 yds and our FB had 20 carries for 185! The damn ball ain't heavy!

Exactly, Just freaking win. Our Oline has been described as 2011ish, we have great backs, and a crazy good back in Drake who can really do anything. Good Receivers, and a punter who can punt to the moon. We should be fine.

Read an article this morning where someone at ESPN has stated emphatically that Cornwell gets the nod. Aparrently, Coker can't get team buy in, lacks leadership and made it sound like he has confidence issues.

His name is Travis Haney and he is the worst predictor of anything sports related.

Haney used to work with the same media group I do. People in this thread who are calling him a tool are being far, far too kind.

Believe you me when I say this ... he's got a deep hatred for Bama that stems from Coach Bryant's day (which I assume he adopted from his parents considering his age.)

On a brighter note, we won't be exposed to the inane comments from one Charles Davis this season. I read he's headed to Sunday's.

4 years ago (give or take a year or two) he asked for a 1/16th of a page to be left blank in the Sunday edition. His stated reason was for an editorial comment section. We left it for him only to see that Sunday morning a "joke" about Bryant and maggots. Totally unprofessional, in my opinion. He never got a damn thing from my department again and KNEW why.

To say the least...that was the beginning of his swan song. He wasn't with our company much longer.

He has never been on board with anything Bama and reeks of Barn poo. He needs to stop writing about us and move on to other things like dangling from the tit of Gus.

I blame the coaching bottom line, We RUN we win, regardless of what the Def does. They wouldn't have even been on the field if we were running. The Def gave the O plenty of chances to win and they blew it. Kiffin got cute, Saban didn't real him in like he did Mac in 12 SEC Game.

Not disagreeing on needing to run more or coaching. Bama football was built on the run. But it was also built in holding teams to minimal scores. I feel that if we had scored 100 in that game, OSU would have matched it. We couldn't stop them at all. Hell, I think they just scored again.... Ugh!

Can we stop living in the 60s and quit saying "we were built on running the ball"?

Either that, or quit bitching about why we don't get stud QBs at Bama.

Can't have both. Times have evolved. Offenses and supporting game rules have evolved also. It's time we evolved as well.

As much as most of us hate to admit, that's pretty accurate.

I do think it's been a combination of offenses improving and our defense giving up big plays... Particularly in the pass game. I think the D will tighten up, but still believe the O needs to produce.

Don't get me wrong. I don't want an air raid attack. A nice, balanced attack that's sensible to what's working in a game. If they can't stop our passing game, keep chucking the ball with some run mixed in. It's okay to set up the run with the pass, when needed. Many have identified ITT that there's at least 4 teams this year with good or better Ds that will commit to taking away our run game. We've seen with Kiffin that once you earn his trust as a QB, he'll give you good opportunities in a game. I actually wouldn't be surprised if they do end up going with Alec Morris. He seems to be the better game manager at this point in camp. I've been a huge Cornwell supporter, but I actually hope Morris wins the job, now that I think about it. He still has 2 years left, and would be another great example of a kid just waiting for his turn to shine. He's been the penultimate team player. Maybe he proves himself enough to win the job.
