From the stuff I have seen posted, which is through message boards mostly so mostly from you haha, Coker doesn't seem to be remotely close to a safe choice. A safe choice sounds like Morris, a la GMac 2.0.
Skimming through most stuff I missed this weekend, I saw some good points about the QB and our schedule... at some point, the QB will have to make some plays, and possibly put the game on his shoulders. I don't believe Coker has the mental maturity to handle that right now. He's the old man in the group and should be the leader that the Barnett's and Cornwell's are learning from... instead, they are probably wondering why he is still getting reps.
Like anyone with common sense, I want the guy that can get us back to Atlanta, and hopefully beyond. If the staff says that guy is Coker, then so be it. But if not, play Morris/Barnett/Cornwell. If the staff feels we will lose a couple of games regardless of who the QB is, then I would like to see Cornwell or Barnett take it, and not Coker simply because he is a senior.
I'm kind of excited about hearing how Morris is doing well. I could see an "under the radar" guy come in and perform extremely well because he doesn't have the hype to live up to or the fan base breathing down his neck (at least until he throws a couple of INT's). He seems smart enough, and certainly knows the team and the playbook and a decent enough arm to deliver a good ball. If he can be a consistent game manager, then I am completely fine with him taking over and throwing 12-15 times a game.
