🏈 Alabama will drive a stake in the heart of LSU and Awbun

i must preface this statement by saying that i've never been much of a sunshine pumper. but i've been watching all these teams play this year and i have to say i think Alabama is going to break a stick off in both sets of tigers this year.

LSU's offense is HORRIBLE... we have jordan jeffersons number. he basically quit the game out of fear last year and we are in his head. there is no way he leads an LSU team to more than 13 points in this game. the other QB is ok, but will throw picks if you make him throw too many passes. their defense will slow Alabama down marginally but not enough. Bama 20 LSU 6

Auburn, as we all know, is a one-trick pony. They are playing backyard, busted play football and making it look good. But most backyard busted play offenses turn to crap when they are faced with a disciplined, sound defense that has speed. Alabama's D has gotten better every week since the SC debacle and i expect that the Barn will have a lot of difficulty moving the ball consistently... much like they had a hard time with LSU's D. Where they will find it especially difficult is in the red zone where i think Bama's D will stuff them. Our secondary can cover their receivers with only the Adams kid being in need of an extra man here and there. that leaves most of our LBs able to keep the pocket formed and keep Newton bottled up and unable to rip off so many big runs up the middle which is where he is KILLING teams.

In addition, the barn's D will NOT be able to stop Alabama's offense. Our guys will run wild on them.

Bama 42 Barn 24

in this last stretch of games, i'm actually as concerned with missy state as any of them. they have a very good running game and could hold the ball a lot and kick field goals and make the game close for a while. if alabama comes out flat, it could be bad.

LSU

First of all, I'm glad it's a daytime game. Secondly, I believe our extremely young defense is actually starting to gel. I have been very annoyed with the lack of QB sacks this season, but now I think that with the games coming up having a more lane-disciplined D means more than sacks.

Make no mistake - LSU has talent - it is just VERY poorly developed talent. Still, their D plays like wild dogs - they come after it, they hit hard, and they play 60 minutes. I really hope that someone on our O-Line has taken a leadership role and challenged the guys to get that "bully" "tough guy" attitude back. We have the size and talent to push people around. We need the will and motivation and LSU will bring it. Will our guys? I think they will. We need to stick with the run game and pound the rock to set up the pass. On defense, I'm not too worried about handling their offense.

MSU

I think this game will be tougher than people think. Especially in Stinkville. I think MSU play tough and hard and they also play 60 minutes. I think out depth wears them down by the middle of the third quarter which is when I think we will pull away.

Georgia State

No comment. Nice for history - get the young guys some experience; rest for AU

Auburn

Everybody knows Auburn is a one man show on offense. But they are on defense as well - his name is Nick Fairley. I agree with jdpas29 that AU essentially plays street ball with Cam Newton. We have to give Cam his due - he is a special talent with size and speed. I would point out quickly, however, that Mr. Tebow weighs only 5 lbs less and is 3 inches shorter making for a more compact powerful package. Tebow was special too. I guess my point is that there is always a way to contain and control a superstar and Cam Newton is not invincible. Look at what MSU did and look at what some D's have done with Ingram and Trent this year. It takes the right game plan and execution with discipline. We have the size, talent, and depth; will Saban and Kirby have the right gameplan? I believe they will. We will have to make Cam a pocket passer to win this game. We will also need to maintain gap and lane discipline whether Cam keeps the ball or not. Tackle well and we win.

On defense, their is no shame in double-teaming Fairley if necessary. At the same time, I DON"T think we should avoid him - run it right at him. We have to stay committed to the run game in order to set up the pass. Alot of teams have been using run blitzes and stunts to control Mark and Trent - it's OK, if our O-Line gets its fire back, we still can pound it. All we need is 4 yds a pop and we win.

At the end of the day, I think Bama is totally fired up for this game and it's in our house. We'll be holding up three fingers at the end of this one on the way to Atlanta.

I agree, but the game is in Tuscaloosa this year. I wish I knew what time kickoff is because I'm trying to decide to buy tickets or not.

We will beat both arbin and lsu soundly. Why? First off, we have two weeks to prepare for lsu and the matchups are in our favor, to put it mildly. Secondly, I think from last week to the end of the year, we are on a mission. Lsu is in our way to accomplishing our goal.

As far as the barn goes.... When has our group of kids' backs been against the wall? NEVER (coming into a game)! Tell this bunch that the #1 team in the nation is here, it's NOT YOU, and they are here to kick our asses! This is when the sleeping giant will awaken! BAD NEWS FOR THE BOOGS!! Watch and see. I pray the barn is #1 and undefeated when they get to T-Town! Then there is no doubt about who the best team in the country is and the barn watches the SEC championship at home.
We have been lacking the intensity all year, with the exception of the second half of the Tn game. If we continue to progress and peak at the end of the season like I think we will, there will be a serious dismantling of the barn. When all the trick plays and backyard football plays have been run, the barn will literally meltdown. We handed Tebow's ass to him on his way out. CamDell Newton will not be any different, other than the fact that he can't throw a pass to save his life. I hope that is what the barn thinks they will beat us with. I hope they think they are that good.

Between the 2 best D's we face in the last 4 reg season games...... LSU & the barn....only one player really worries me.
Nick Fairley

Who is he going to have to bump heads with on our line? Chance or Barett? It's going to be one or the other and i hope they can
stop that kid from getting to Greg cause he is a beast. I'm not even worrind about Newton as much as i am about Nick Fairley.
Teams have been getting at Greg a little to much this year for my taste. I don't like it at all. Brings back too many memories of the last time
Brodie played them. Poor guy as flat of his ass the entire game. That cannot happen here.
They have a weak secondary. I hope we do them like we did the vols in the 2nd 1/2. Air it out and make the respect
Julio, Maze & Hanks. and when they bite run it down their throught. THAT's Bama ball.

LSU....(since i've abandond my preseason picks) i think that will wind up something round 28-14 our way. I see us beating them by 2 td's
min.
And i agree. I think Mullen will play us a closer game than even LSU. I'm more concerned with playing state @ this point than i am LSU.
I know it's wierd but that seems like a bigger game to me.

I think we will be able to handle LSux pretty easily. Their offens is anemic, but the game with the Barn will be a war. Stopping Cam will be near impossible. We will have to be very disciplined in our pass rush and not over pursue. I really don't fear the barn, but I do fear Cam. If we can somewhat contain him we should be headed to the ATL.

LSU's Offense vs. BAMA's Defense
Who scores the most points, and what is that margin of victory between the two?

If we can force Jefferson into passing, we will make some picks. This seems so obvious that I wonder if we don't see more of Jarret Lee, simple because he stands a better chance of making our DBs stay honest (meaning deep). It will get ugly if our D can play shallow on the Tigers.

I agree, but the game is in Tuscaloosa this year. I wish I knew what time kickoff is because I'm trying to decide to buy tickets or not.

The Iron Bowl is at 1:30 and being televised by CBS.

As for the games left on the season...

I think we'll win against the corndogs but it won't show until later in the 2nd half. I will kill my TV if Les wins this game by some crapshoot last second time management BS.

I think Miss St will be a challenge. They have played good off and on this season. They play physical football for most of the entire game. It will test us but I see us coming away with another W, although maybe not a pretty game.

GA St will (read: should) be a tune-up game for Auburn. We'll play ultra conservative and very vanilla. GA St doesn't have anything for our D to prepare as if they were playing Auburn. Work on mechanics and executing your assignments. Get some younger guys to play and win soundly.

Iron Bowl. My B-I-L has a friend who plays for the team (Kenny Betts) and he said that the team ran one play over and over and over last week against defending Cam's dive play. However as we saw last night Cam's throwing abilities are getting better as well. I don't think Cam will torch our young secondary. They have showed improvement little by little as the season has progressed. We will come into this game knowing what HAs to be done. The same goes for Auburn. It should make for one epic Iron Bowl if both teams come in without dropping a game before then. All bets are off as it'll be the decider of the SEC W champ and also a ticket possibily to the NCG. I'm just wanting to make the trip to ATL and crush Auburns man-loving Cam dreams at BDS. It'll be a tough, physical game for 60 seconds. Best way to beat Auburns offense is to keep them on the sideline and let us control the tempo of the game, not them like their used to doing this year. As far Fairley, it won't be a matter of which lineman of ours defends him. He will take up two people as he has for most of the season. He is a beast!

Right now I'm just taking it one game at a time. We control our destiny IF we win out.

You guys have put some good analysis on here. I'd love to spend as much time breaking down Auburn and Miss State, but really, this LSU game is something a lot of Tide fans might be looking past. They, along with Miss State, are the only teams to really limit Auburn's points this season, and even LSU gave up a TON of yardage on the ground.

So, the next game is in Baton Rouge against a tough, one-loss LSU team, that has lost two close games to us the past two years. It will be hard to watch, to be honest, because I don't see how our offense can put a lot of points on these guys. Good news is, 7-10 points might be enough to win. Focus on LSU, a game I'm sure Nick Saban will give his utmost attention, and then worry about what comes next.

Thankfully, this will be our final road game of the year. Also, make sure you root for S. Carolina over Florida, because if we want a sure-fired way to get into the National Title besides winning the SEC title game, beating a 10-2 South Carolina team in that game would say so loudly that we belong.

I don't think anyone is looking past lsu. Certainly the players and coaches aren't which matter more than what us fans think of course. Their d is pretty stout and it will be yet another great test for us. But I'll put saban and our team up against the mad hatter and his horrible ability to coach top talent. It'll be interesting seeing the julio and petterson rematch again.

IF we make it to the SECCG and IF we win, I don't think it will matter that much what the SEC east teams record will be. Everyone including all the media.and voters know the SEC East is down this year pretty badly. I don't see how they'd put a Boise or other non BCS conference team ahead of a one loss SEC West team. But stranger things have happened. These are all probabilities though and too far down the road to even think about without wishfully thinking. Lots of football still left to be players both for us and around the country.
