NFL teams began signing free agents on March 9, but 14 players from Alabama high schools and colleges who played in the league in the 2016 season don't have a team for 2017 yet.

Former Tide Players:

Wallace Gilberry, Baldwin County High, Alabama, defensive end
The Bengals let Gilberry leave in free agency after the 2015 season. He signed with the Lions, got hurt and was released. Gilberry returned to Cincinnati for five games and gave the Bengals some spark with 2.5 sacks. After going undrafted, Gilberry has forged a nine-season career, compiling 34 sacks.

Roman Harper, Prattville High, Alabama, safety

Harper has 11 seasons – including two as a Pro Bowler -- of NFL experience, but he started a career-low four games and had a career-low 25 tackles in 2016. He played his ninth season with the Saints on a one-year contract last season.

Rashad Johnson, Sulligent High, Alabama, safety
After seven seasons with the Cardinals, Johnson played 2016 on a one-year contract with the Titans. Johnson started seven games for Tennessee after being a full-time regular the previous two years in Arizona. He also went without an interception after picking off 14 over the previous four seasons.
