If they have been slacking in practice (seems like they have) it has shown up in the last 2-3 games. On the rebounding issue, Never playing organized basketball but I assume like with anything there is some technique into blocking out that helps but some of it is also just good old fashion want to.

I played HS ball and the last 17 years played 3 days a week at a local University as well as League ball. There are factors to rebounding first is desire then talent level quickness and jumping ability and then awareness to block out.

John Petty's attitude and lackluster play last night, CNO bringing him off the bench, may have stemmed from the T foul he got in the game before. Not starting bruised his ego a little and it showed on the court last night. JMO

I played in HS and then coached it for a while as well. It's A LOT about "want to and desire" and having the willingness to mix it up inside. Really only 2 things you need to know as far as technique goes. 1, is it man to man or zone defense. Man- you have to get your man and zone- you have an area. It's a little harder in zone because you've got to see the shot, get your head on a swivel and then get on them. Man- there is no excuse. 2, get your hip into him and use your elbows as "curb feelers".
