@EasyTider Here's your FT % numbers. :devil:

The thing that jumps out to me from the box score...10 players in rotation, nine of whom scored last night.

'Slight' improvement. We need to get the FT percentage closer to 70% if we want to win tight games. Still not sure how we pulled this one out. Felt like we were down 20 at half. Team showed some grit.

I'm going to continue to mess with you on this. I'm a Kyle Macy fan. That should tell you what I believe about FT%.

Perception isn't always reality in a lot of sports.

Watching this game I'm watching Avery and wondering where he's going when he pulled Hall: how long, to what end, etc. I saw a good halftime adjustment coaching and the players followed. My perception.

Sexton carried the team but he's not the one that closed it. Jones was that man.
And that's without Braxton Key. What will he bring to the floor when he returns?

It'll give the offense the ability to stretch the floor more from the 4. Compare that to the two underneath last night. It's another "component."

Position wise I can't say I've seen a Bama team this well built. (Caveat: with each team in their respective era's.)

I had full butt pucker for most of the first half. Those cats they were playing were a very veteran team that won 24 games last year and had back most of their team. That point guard was quick and quick comes.. you couldn't touch him in a phone booth he was so quick and number 25 was about 6'6 or 6'7 and had a sweet stroke. They were for real and it was a good experience for our young team.

Second half, Avery decided he was gonna make someone else score besides 25 and it rattled that point guard for a while. He was still trying to force the ball and ended up turning it over several times which got us going. When he finally figured out that we were going to force him to score to win he started shooting it and damn if he didn't make everything he looked at. If that little guard can score like that, keep #25 involved and use his natural quickness and court vision to feed his teammates they are going to be nasty for anyone who plays them going forward.

I feel fortunate to have snuck out a win in that one. We also have some other issues going forward we play Florida and A&M twice each in the SEC schedule and truly have a really difficult conference schedule all together.. meaning we need to dominate this non-conference schedule to have a chance to go to the tourney this year.

Forgive me for thinking a struggle win over a NIT Sun Belt team isn't great.
You are talking a bit out of your ass here, bird. Why can't you admit that's a good ball club Bama played last night. The vast majority outside of the Bama fan base are saying the same.
Are you suggesting our guys wipe their hands on their socks before shooting FTs?
Exactly! It's a sure way to keep flex in the knee for the proper technique.

He knows better. If it was Butler and he actually kept up with college basketball he would be singing our praises for gutting out a tough matchup. Mo Williams spoke with amazement about some of their players and called them NBA good.

Here's the thing with Sexton and Petty: we knew what we were getting. Impressive, but somewhat expected.

The kid that has impressed me the most out of this frosh class, especially last night, is Herb Jones. The kid is a KILLER defender. 4 charges drawn and 8 defensive boards last night?

Sick.

Absolutely sick.
