Who said anything about any rumors on an Auburn board? I only post on one Auburn board (WEN) and I haven't seen anything there. But you post on WEN a lot more than I do so maybe you saw something :D

There are posts on some premium boards (Rivals and Scout) by some usually reliable posters that Bama got a PLOI before the Indy trip.

When you spoke of "posts on some premium boards (Rivals and Scout)" I assumed you meant Auburn premium boards.....because those posts are NOT on Bama premium forums.

If they are not on Auburn's Rivals and scout forums, where are they?

You assumed wrong. I did not see them on an Auburn premium board. It really doesn't matter. Take it or leave it. I was just adding to the thread with no intention of getting into a pissing contest.

Horse hockey. You saw it on the Scout Auburn board with that hitler wannabe moderator who compared Saban to a child molester a while back. That is the trashiest of the trash when it comes to internet forums.

If that was not where it was, then where was it? Exactly.

Bama has not been "systematically selling textbooks for a decade" either. The anal probe that the NCAA gave us from 1999 to 2002 uncovered every time a coach had picked his nose or a player had used too much toilet paper.

As for the secondary violations...it is true...Bama has self reported 5. Auburn just self reported 13. I guess the barn is going to get the death penalty since you guys are still in the repeat offender window and WE are not. Thats right...it expired in February. Even if we were found guilty of having a salary schedule for players, it would not get us anything worse than probation plus penalties...we do not qualify for the repeat violator status because we are outside of the 5 year window.

The last NCAA probe ended in 2002. We have been virtually spotless since then (everybody has some lame secondary violations that were accidental). You idiot barners need to quit living in the past because you lead the nation in NCAA violations. Unlike Bama who has only been found guilty of extra benefits involving external people (boosters) and then only once, you vermin were found guilty of COACHES paying players - more than once! You are the crookedest bunch of cheaters ever to lace on cleats. Bobby Lowder pays the barner players more money than he pays his bank employees. It gets delivered in yellawood boxes! You are still on probation. We are not.

On February 13, 2004, officials from Auburn University appeared before the Division I Committee on Infractions to address allegations of NCAA violations in the men’s basketball program. The allegations in this case centered on recruiting violations and unethical conduct resulting from the alleged recruiting violations.

This case almost exclusively revolved around activities conducted by the men’s basketball staff with basketball club teams and individuals associated with these teams. Such teams are often lumped into a group of so-called “AAU” (Amateur Athletic Union) teams, a term loosely used to describe traveling basketball squads composed of high-school-aged prospective student-athletes sponsored by a variety of commercial interests and individuals. In most instances, however, these so-called AAU teams do not have any direct affiliation with the AAU. For the purposes of this report, these teams will be referred to simply as “amateur teams.”

The evidence in this case demonstrated that the men’s basketball staff became involved with (a) two amateur teams operating from Huntsville, Alabama (hereafter, “amateur team No. 1" and “amateur team No. 2”) and (b) two individuals associated with the teams - a Huntsville businessman who provided financial support for these teams (hereafter, “the team sponsor”) and a self-described sports agent (hereafter, "the sports agent") who had befriended a member of one of the teams. The two most serious allegations arose out of alleged conduct by members of the men's basketball staff. It was charged that members of the men’s basketball staff, either directly or through the previously mentioned individuals, offered significant recruiting inducements to prospective student-athletes.

You were BUYING RECRUITS!!! If it happens in Basketball, you KNOW you are doing it in Football! Sheesh. You people are so corrupt that you LIVE to see other people corrupt. When others are clean, you make stuff up!

The TRUTH is, We wre in INDY TURNING AUBURN IN! YOU are going to get the DEATH PENALTY! The NCAA is finally listening. Sociology was bad enough but now you have been caught changing grades and paying players to come to Auburn! A crappy racist agricultural school like Auburn could NEVER compete with Alabama or Florida or LSU on an even playing field so you CHEAT CHEAT CHEAT.

CHEATER AUBURN CHEATERS! You should add CHEATERS to the already confusing list of mascot names you have...The Auburn War Eagle Tiger Plainsmen Cheaters!

I just wanted a name of the premium forum where this rumor was posted.

Proud Tiger...

Well, if you are honest in that you did not seem this information on an Auburn premium message forum, why won't, and don't, you just tell us where you did see the information.

That way, we all might be better able to judge the objectivity of the information and the credibility of the source. Would you not agree?

Can you see where your refusal, despite at least two requests that you do provide this information, might lead others here to question the veracity of both the information in question and your assertion of where you learned same?

If your sincere and honest intent is to just pass along information to us here, I really cannot see why you would play the game of telling us where you did NOT get the information, but would instead direct us to where you DID find or learn it.

alagator...you make a reasonable request in a calm manner so I will respond.

1. I do not belong to any premium sites so could not have read any posts on such sites. I didn't even know that Rivals and Scout had seperate Auburn and Bama boards.
2. I did not say that I read the posts, I just said they were there. Argo reacted emotionally on assumption without reading the post.
3. I didn't say Bama cheats or say anything about probation. In fact the opening post in the thread reflects some concern and then shipley00 and Bamma Jamma mention probation. I made the post as a FWIW kind of thing and did not state I knew anything as fact other than the posts I mentioned.
4. I was told about the posts by a big Bama fan who is a good friend. We were discussing the Bama-LSU game and the subject of the Indy visit came up. He mentioned the posts I referred to. He didn't say they were on a Bama board or an Auburn board. All he mentioned was Rivals and Scout. And I say again, this board is the only place I have said anything about it and then only because I saw this thread. If I wanted to spread it around I could easily do so.

So there ya go. I won't say anymore about it. In fact. I will just close by saying I'm surprised a guy like Big Fan (a minister?) is so full of venom. Wow!!! I'm glad I'n not an Auburn fan in his congregation.

You're full of it PT. You certainly shouldn't be saying anything about emotional reactions considering your history here as well as at WEN. Little girls have more emotional fortitude than you.

It's ridiculous to expect anyone to think you hadn't seen the posts you were referring to by what you posted. It was obviously implied. You never stipulated "I was told". You wanted it to be believed you has seen such a post. You simply didn't expect to be called on to produce and when you were had to put up this hilarious attempt to cover yourself. It didn't work. Not by a long shot.

So all we have to go on is someone told you something might currently be rumored on some unidentified and unspecified website. Gotcha.

So coming to only one site, to repeat a rumor about which you have no information about its source or veracity, does not, in your mind, constitute 'spreading it around.' Gotcha.

Instead of pouting off never to comment on your effort again, why not just contact this Bama friend of yours who first told you about the details of this story and ask him where he saw or read the posts and then inform all of us. Again, this would help us more by telling us where the information is being discussed. Is not that a simple and logical request - especially to one who states his purpose is simply provide information (you know, the 'FWIW' reason you offered)? Surely, you can appreciate the lack of trust and acceptance of your innocent reason absent this effort to further inform us?

alagator....you asked for an honest answer. I gave you one and look at the ensuing posts. I should have just said screw it. The responses wouldn't have been any worse. And Alpha Male....I think I have only made about three posts on WEN this whole year so that hardly qualifies for a lot of emotion. I've tried to quit wasting my time with crap on boards and just try reasonable discussions. I see it doesn't work here any better thasn WEN.

I should just let it be but I just became aware of some related stuff that could be the root of talk about a letter of inquiry. It is on Ian Rapoport's "The Rap Sheet" at al.com, B'ham News.

PT must use Bill Clinton's speech writer. It depends on what your definition of "is" is.

What was I thinking? Spreading unsubstantiated information and then playing semantics when asked for evidence is the epitome of reasonable discussion.

Are you saying you've only been a member at WEN since 2007?

So you have NOT yet contacted your friend to see on which Rivals and/or Scout forum HE read the information you passed along to all us?

Of course the responses and posts subsequent your attempt to clarify were harsh. For you have STILL not provided us with the information you assured us was legitimate - and apparently readily available. Even now, you continue to spin and skirt the issue, when all that is really asked, or required, is that you provide us with the name of the Rivals or Scout site where this information and discussion you told us of resides. Is your doing this, in your effort to inform us of what is happening behind closed doors, really that difficult a proposition? And you will note that the al.com blog you linked is not exactly a Rivals or Scout site will you not?

I can appreciate your frustration at not being taken for your word. But the best way to build trust and demonstrate your veracity is to provide the source information of your claim, especially when the underlying credibility of your claim is some source about which you first allude to have first hand knowledge. When called to produce the source, you clarify that you have not personally seen the information, but were merely told of its existence by a trusted friend. And when asked to contact said friend to learn the true source and inform us, you demure further. You can see where doubts about your true intention might rise in the face of your actions do you not?

All that said, your FWIW information just might be the complete truth. But given you are hesitant, or unwilling, or unable to direct us to the source of your story, then...

My wife is an Auburn fan. She is not an internet moron. I am sure that the moneychangers in the temple court were surprised when Jesus came in with a bull-whip. Mark Green accused Saban of being a member of NAMBLA. You come over here spewing Auburn scout board material and expect to not be called out on it...that is laughable.

Yes, I am an ordained minister. I am not a Benedictine Monastic. You do the typical "I cannot defend my point" by pulling the minister card...you are probably one of those people who think that those in ministry should do nothing but preach, pray, and minister. Guess what? Jesus went to the wedding feast (a party) and there was so much wine served that they ran out and he had to make more (The first miracle documented in John, a book written to so Jesus as the Son of God)! I go to Bama games and forums and get sick and tired of seeing demoniac barners spewing their bull crap rumors and acting all self-righteous.

The barner program is the most corrupt on the planet. Even your Golf and Tennis programs have had the NCAA involved. Sociology anyone? Grade changes in mobile for multiple barner recruits from different schools? Keep it down home cuz? Tator Tot said that there was a slush fund in place for paying players when he was there, and your administration thinks so little of Tubbs that they got in a jet and went for a ride...only a closed minded person would think that there is ANY way Tubbs could have made them stop.

I did not go to the barner board rumor mongering...You need to go remove that beam from your eye now...run along.

Aye-men-AH!
Not to change the subject, but has anyone heard anything? I thought the NZAA was going to make somewhat of a "ruling" "before the LSU game".
By the way this is my first post here and I love this frappin' board. You all are ripping this guy a new A**!

Welcome VirginaTider, glad to have you with the rest of the herd.

I, too, have been waiting for this "ruling." Maybe I missed an announcement or an article concerning the fate of the players. Sure would like to know some news, preferably good.

Not to split hairs, but accusing a group of fans of a particular school of being demoniac (even though I am not really sure that is a word) is no better than accusing someone of being a member of NAMBLA.

Or were you just referring to a certain segment of the fanbase?
