The Crimson Tide saw a $5 million increase in right licensing and a more than $1.3 million jump in ticket sales.

The Alabama athletic department generated the largest revenue among SEC schools and the fourth-largest in the country last year, according to numbers compiled by USA Today. The Crimson Tide brought in $124,899,945 -- a roughly $400,000 increase from 2011. Its expenditures increased from $105,068,152 in 2011 to $108,204,867 in 2012.

Do the math, and that's good for a profit of $16,695,078.

Alabama, which was one of 13 schools to clear $100 million in revenue, saw its largest revenue increase in right licensing, which increased by nearly $5 million to $42,597,473. Ticket sales increased by more than $1.3 million to $33,043,253. Contributions ($30,390,598) remained stable.

The largest increase in expenditures came under the category of coaching staff, where Alabama saw a rise from $36,137,493 to $39,314,199.
The athletic department received a subsidy of $5,461,200.

Alabama has cleared at least $100 million in revenue every year since 2008. Its best year was 2010, when it surpassed $130 million.

Texas led all athletic departments with $163,295,115 in revenue. Texas A&M, which ranked sixth overall in total revenue ($119,702,222), saw a profit of nearly $38 million.

Alabama was one of five SEC teams in the top 10 revenue generators, joining No. 5 Florida, No. 6 Texas A&M, No. 7 LSU and No. 10 Auburn.
