| FTBL Alabama football coaching staff changes and updates...

Yawl are going to need to help me with my biases but last I checked Indiana was not this great powerhouse. I know nothing about this guy and maybe he is everything we need so this is just a general comment. Stating the obvious, we need elite coaches and recruiters not just good ones. We no longer have the wildcard called CNS to pull the needed talent in.
@mando....... I am interested in how IU does moving forward. Cignetti is the new HC. In the words of Bear Bryant. Cignetti ain't nothing but a winner. I would not be surprised if they make a little noise in the B1G moving forward. Maybe not winning it all, but they are gonna $hit on a few teams hopes.

The losses outweigh the good from my limited perspective but that may just be part of this transition.

Losses = Niblack, Bond, Amos, high profile recruit decommitments, not able to land T-Rob

Wins= Morgan, OC, WR Coach, keeping Roach and Gillespie, maybe a decent DC (?)

I’m still worried about the recruiting ability of this staff as a whole.
Go look at the recruiting thread and a few of the Alabama posts I've made about all these recruits and players tagging Courtney Morgan in them. He's already got a 5-star stud WR from 2025 coming to our Junior day that didn't even have us on his radar last week. He's talked with almost all of the guys we're targeting for 2025 and sent out some offers as well as some targets for 2024 to build our class up more. We're going to be just fine on recruiting, the only knock as everyone has said is that DeBoer and Morgan will need to build in-roads with local high school coaches throughout the South.

They've been recruiting the south for years, they know some of the coaches around here, but they're not like Saban who had 16 years of relationships with the coaches, administrators, etc. BUT they have Saban at their disposal to help with those, they also have Roach and Gillespie to help. A few others names that have been in this scene are still in Analyst roles and may continue to be with the new staff change. We'll be fine in recruiting next year, I can promise you that much.

Re: Some discussion on Robinson and the DC sport earlier earlier this morning… my understanding his the hangup was about just how much control he’d have of the defense. It was a lot, but not 100% and 100% was required to keep him.
Pieces of the puzzle...

I mentioned earlier today that the length of the interview told me it was a scheme discussion. It fits.

So he’s getting 100% at Georgia? Not likely…
I see your point though.

I do believe we are getting an upgrade in Womack.

I think this move was very smart on DeBoer's part, it signals to the players that we tried our best to retain him. It also says that Trob didn't want to be here to the locker room and hopefully that pisses them off.

Rev Hugh got forced to take Caddy and Zac, to “save the team”.. so I was wondering about CKD being in a similar situation, to keep players..
I hope he doesn't go that route. Better for anyone that doesn't want to be HERE with HIM to go than keep a coach or two that you don't want.

I’ve never understood why people want him back? There’s a reason Saban didn’t try harder to keep him

I was just joking when saying that. I can get the positives in having him around a new program that needs a spark and that loud coach to get the players in line. I honestly feel that's why Kirby brought him to Athens to jumpstart his team like Saban used him for at Alabama. It's something that you no longer need when you have an effective coach that can raise the standard and set the bar above those antics to where it's simple culture to be above it at this point.
