| MBB/WBB đźŹ€ Alabama Drops 87-74 Decision to No. 4/4 Arizona at Hall of Fame Series in Phoenix

This team is just rough, and CNO has to figure out how to use a timeout correctly. I understand his style and play, but analytics tell you that taking a timeout during an opposing teams run has a better chance of slowing them down than letting it just continue and trying to overcome the run like he always tries to do. He should've re-focused the team after they blew the lead and tried to cut down on the turnovers.

The frustrating thing about the past four games is that that they’re ok until the last ten minutes of the game. Either they start rushing things by jacking up 3s, unable to create any other offense, and melt down on defense. The other issues are they don’t have any bench scoring, get beat on the defensive boards, no consistent inside presence and continue to take terrible shots when the 3 ball isn’t falling. This game the Purdue and Creighton games are all the same. They just fell apart at a different time in the second half.

And I get that the majority of the scoring had to be replaced. Charles and Q F’d this team by bolting unexpectedly. They’d be a good team if they had stayed. Q would be just as productive at Alabama as he is as Memphis. Was he pissed that Sears was going to be the starter at PG? It was great when they could use Q at the two or have him as the 6th.

On the bright side, we can play with anybody. We have been in every game till the last five minutes where we amstart turning it over and not finding the bottom of the net. It's a tough pill to swallow when you'd matched up with the best and probably should have won two of the three against the Top 10, but you lose all three and sitting adound .500. If we can increase our three point percentage by 10% we are likely undefeated. And 10% gets us to 30% in all of our losses, so not asking for the impossible.

I sort of get it. New staff, new players. Just play ball like you;re capable of. Forget about winning the hard hat. Move your feet, quit reaching and fouling.

Unwise fouls. Really bad passing resulting in turnovers and inability to catch and shoot in rhythm. Cold shooting. Can't protect the rim without fouling. Still a fun team to watch. Hope they can figure things out.

This team is on the edge of being very good but defensive sloppiness and fouls are really taking their toll. We have also had a very tough schedule at either neutral sites or road games. That Creighton crowd got vocal when it mattered and so did that AZ crowd last night. Losing 5 games when most were within reach is a two-edged sword. The Tide will either grow from this and enter SEC play truly battle tested and get better or they will collapse under the weight of expectations set just a year ago.

This will be where CNO earns his money. He's got some coaching to do but my confidence is still high that this group can make a very good run if they can get the defensive play dialed up a bit without all of the fouls.

Road games are going to be ass spankings this year. The way we foul AND get home cooking, we'll be lucky to have 5 players on the court in the 2nd half on road games.

Going to find out how good Oats can coach. Keeping this team playing hard so they can get better after dropping 3 will take some motivational magic from the head man and the team themselves. Resiliency and mental toughness is called for. We shall see....
