Alabama co-defensive coordinator to not return next season



Alabama football’s co-defensive coordinator and safeties coach Colin Hitschler has been informed he will not return to the Crimson Tide next season, per ESPN’s Pete Thamel.

Hitschler had a year remaining on his two-year contract, per Thamel. It was his first year on Alabama’s staff.

This time, last season, his name was being tossed around as a possible defensive coordinator. I'm pretty sure I pointed to him in the "Alabama staff changes" thread in January of 24. Hell, positive I did.

Mentioned in another thread but he just struggled some on and off the field. On the field some of it could be covered up with other staff. But long term it wasn’t gonna work. UA doesn’t want to eat payout $, but went ahead and bit it.
