📡 Alabama begins its search for their new basketball coach

Serious question here... I will preface by saying I do not believe Byrne would go this route or even really seriously think about it but since we're doing "what ifs" a lot these days... what if he pulls the trigger and offers Pitino? How would yall react? There are a lot of people I still see that want this.

Personally, I would be done with Alabama basketball, at least as a fan, as long as he were here. Thankfully, like I said, I don't see that happening.

As an alumni I would be done with the school and wouldn’t give to them financially nor support their sports programs for at least while he was the coach if not for good. Pitino is a shit human being and for any school let alone UA to sell their souls for the sake of winning would disgust me

He signed a five year deal with the fifth year being a team option when he first went to OKC. They picked up that fifth year back in December, so that means he's locked up at least through next season but he will probably get an extension at the end of this season.

Do you remember when Saban was announced how pissed off the LSU folks were? I'm not talking about their anger about it being Saban. I'm referring to their claim it was done a few days before their game with Ohio State so Bama would dominate the news headlines.

I've got a feeling that we're going to hear the same thing pretty soon. People are going to be mad because of the timing of the announcement and it dominating the news headlines versus the coverage of their team. A feeling, mind you, because I don't know when the announcement is planned. But, I can certainly see Byrne taking advantage.
