...but the digits 6, 2, and 0 in any order wouldn't fit clue #3.

Same digits as your answer but in different order. It says only 2 of those 3 digits are right.




When you look at all the clues with 042 as the presumed answer, then every clue makes perfect sense:

Doesn't line 1 eliminate 6? Zero is in the 1st slot. Clue 1: One digit is right and in the right spot (2), eliminating the 6, because it's in the first slot so it can't be the right one in the right slot, or am I looking at it wrong?
