Almost 20, 19 7/8ish. Got my limit but rest were 14 and 15. Lost another big one in the mangrove roots. 7 hours and 11ish miles in a kayak making me realize my age.

I actually thought about trying a fish picatta but over potatoes or maybe just having asparagus or something with it, no pasta.

The staff at the Wheeler Wildlife Refuge east of Decatur told us they had counted as high as 20,000 Sandhills cranes in late December. Also have seen 18 Whooping Cranes this year.

I asked how did they count them and they use aerial photography with drones, run the photos through some kind of tabulating program and get an approximate headcount that way, with a plus or minus error of 10 %.

If you’ve never seen them it’s worth a drive to Decatur.



I didn’t have my binoculars but a guy in the photography blind said there were a pair of Whooping Cranes in the 3rd picture but a long way out of IPhone range.

The Supermoon phase. I've seen these in several states and I haven't seen one as beautiful as what it's like here on the coast. It just has a different vibe.

Fishing at night with a Super moon? Yeah...yeah.

So far, missed it this year. It's been too cloudy.
