the game and playoffs are here to stay. They will expand. Some ridiculous bowls with 6-6 teams are going away if they dontgrab the chance to host some playoff games.
Basketball has shown. More teams dont hurt the playoffs.
More great ( if not great at lesst meaningful) football is In the way.

I long for the BCS.

It was #1 vs #2 then four...moving goal posts

But there was always the debate on that #2 team. Hence the CFP. No matter how many teams are included and why they are included, there will be complaints.

Won’t be on the U or SECN. They will want maximum access and coverage. That means ESPN and ABC. They may stretch games to cover Friday and Saturday. Of course, the current broadcast agreements don’t cover this scenario so Fox, NBC and/or CBS could bid to jump in.

Good point. Has it destroyed the players in FCS...the extra game or 2 for a couple teams...why NO....and ita in December. Same as finals for some schools

I have a novel idea. Make everyone eligible, each team play 12 games, and at the end we let the Top 4 play each other and then the two winners play for the National Championship. Everyone has a chance if we do it that way.

yep. With the new world order ..... you have to know... it wont be based strictly on "deservings". Have to coddle the other ones....
But they will be eliminated quickly. Until one day.....one day...a G5 team will have unprecedented success...and the "coddle ones " will use that one moment to say..."told u so"

I don't think there would be as much clamor for expansion if they had gone with a true Plus One initially. After the Bowls there is little to no question as to the best two teams. What we have now is technically a Plus One because the Bowls are included in the CFP before the NCG (the Plus One). Would be a LOT less bitching and moaning if the selection of TWO teams was AFTER the Bowls. Half of the bitchers and moaners get eliminated with the Bowls. And all of the pretenders.

Furthermore, it would have the effect of making a number of other Bowl Games to become just a little more competitive and viewable.
