Okay, so you made points on what BAMA "needs to do", except basically all you said for LSU made it seem like there was nothing to it and made it seem like everything BAMA had to do was impossible.
You basically said DJ Hall is gonna be ineffective (tell that to Tennessee). You took away our long ball because theres apparently no way we can throw a deep one and not throw an interception.
You took away everything excpet dumping it off to Grant for some yards. Man, thats all we got left. Damn, this is gonna be a long game.
Saban will try to make this a field position battle and control the clock.
Alright? Isn't this almost every football game? Usually everyone wants to control the clock, well except for Les "15 Seconds Left" Miles. What coach doesn't want good field position to work with? I'm not sure.
Okay, now are you gonna answer seriously or just demean everything we evaluate the game with? Because if so, we will respond the same way. You push, we will push back.
Now on to what BAMA has to do. BAMA has to come out of the gates quick. Whether it is scoring a touchdown or holding LSU to an early three and out. We need something to get the crowd going (we'll be going regardless, but it will help).
If BAMA can establish a run on offense with Grant and Upchurch (possibly Johns and Coffee), then it will be good. Out of the run we can setup some good play action rollouts (which have worked well so far this year, especially in the redzone). The run can establish a base for some plays that we have been setting up all year. Look for at least one reverse this game. We have seen the setup all year, but its never actually been handed off for a reverse (unless I missed it).
If we get momentum, John Parker will find his rhythm. The O-line is gonna have to keep the big uglies off of #14 early, so he can get his confidence and rhythm. Along with that, Grant and the other backs will have to pick up the blitzes, which they did SO WELL in the Tennessee game. Grant punished some of those LB's and DB's for blitzing. He did a really great job of picking up the blitz.
Now on to defense, BAMA is gonna have to keep the scoring down, a shootout is not to our advantage. The one thing BAMA is gonna need, is a CRUCIAL turnover. We need at least one turnover on a drive where LSU is bound to score and get a big wave of momentum going with them. I see maybe a few picks, and hopefully BAMA can capitalize off some of those.
BAMA has gotta pressure the QB. This is an obvious given for any game really. We had a great blitz and pass rush package for the Tennessee game, but LSU has much more talented recievers than Tennessee. Simeon and his boys are gonna have to step up and make some big hits and make sure the LSU WR's know whats waiting for them.
BAMA's Linebackers are gonna have to keep the middle under wraps. Little dump passes and off-tackles, or runs around the end, are gonna be a key to stopping first downs. If the LB's can hold the middle, then BAMA will be successful on stopping third downs, thus leading to some big stops on defense.
Basically, both teams have to play smart ball and execute their gameplans. Saban and Miles know alot more than me, I'm basically just rambling about what I think is right, which is probably way off. I guess I'll say one of those obvious gameplan predicitions, "It comes down to who makes the least mistakes." (Duh!)
ROLL TIDE ROLL!
Lets play the game already!
