That first fumble was forgivable. Hard not to cough that one up with the way the ball was hit, but he's got to secure it better in the open field. The is the stuff that drives Saban mad. He actually had a 3rd fumble too, but I'm not sure if it will be in the stats or not. The geniuses in the booth today never saw it or mentioned it.

Yep, he was carrying that second one kinda loosely. Kept waiting for him to switch it to the arm/side closest to the sideline, but on the replay I noticed a KY defender coming up on his right side.

I expect he will be protecting it a lot better against Ole Siss after a couple weeks of Coach Saban's learning. :D

When was the third fumble, Porter? I missed it, too.

Absolutely.

Also, why not carry the ball with the arm that's closest to the sideline? On his last fumble, he had the ball in his left hand, but he was running down the right sideline. If he had been carrying it in his right hand, it would have been harder for a defender to get to the ball. And if you do fumble, it will probably go out of bounds. It won't spill out in the middle of the field, where a defender might get it, or roll out of bounds like with Tennessee at BDS in 2005.
