Bama has 20 players to leave. So far, Bama has 15 players to come to Bama to play. So here is my question about a few positions that haven't had anyone sign on for.

QB? You think we need one for like a backup? Just in case of an injury to one or both QBs?
RB? Should Bama try to sign one RB?
Safety? Should Bama try to sign one safety?

I know both QB may not be injured at the same time, but who knows?
RB yes I know we got one in right now is the next coming of King Henry.
Safety right now, we got a few good ones that came back.

It’s always a possibility Rick. I’m sure the staff is doing a deep dive into few in the portal and taking a closer look as to who might fit.

Interesting you say that. I don't see them doing that just to please fans. I imagine they'll keep it same as last year .. don't show nothing.
The reason they didn't show anything was due to other programs buying those backups that did show something. They will have to buy them next January. As far as a RB, you can see true talent even in a watered-down spring game. The speed and agility within the 1st 5 yards stand out light a sore thumb.

They'll probably take a few more depth pieces but unless someone comes available that they just really, really want (and need), they are most likely done with the impact type players. In a perfect world, there would be more adds of guys that would contribute heavily, but budget wise, for what was allotted, there's not much wiggle room left (and they don't like making exceptions there).

We will likely see a few signings/commitments from guys that are in the portal and can't find a home. Bama will take a few stabs at some players on minimum deals maybe just PWO or Scholarship only players where they can stay and earn more NIL opportunities or they can leave and we'll be just fine.

I think the only true ones to watch right now are Nico Brown and the possibility of a LB, rumblings were heard but they aren't running to grab guys so maybe they're comfy with our current LB situation.

Or they're waiting for the game tonight to finish and going to try to get someone from those rosters (Also possible)

Win or Lose, the portal opens up for Indiana and Miami at midnight tonight for 5 days, so we may see some more interests and visits here soon, we shall see.

Out of curiosity, who are you considering ā€œimpactā€ players, not on the OL?

Guys that are going to get start or get significant snaps in 2026. I do wish there had been room (money wise) for a more proven, older guy that could play RT and/or LT. But the price tag was gonna be high for that combo, so I get it. Just gonna have to hope these greener OL guys develop quickly.

He's not wrong, but it isn't an exact science for the CFB coaches either. Lots of misses out there. Then on the next level, you have a guy who is a stud in college, but the NFL GM's whiff on him.... maybe he's a QB, LT, or CB. Happens all the time.

I'd say some of the national and team site guys are much better than others though on evals. Just as some college and pro coaches/GM's are better than others.

How did Bama swing the DL from Oregon?

With Tosh his DC and now HC at Cal and Lanning with a checkbook that is unlimited?

Did Bama step outside their PayScale to sign the guy even though it might not set well with our DL on the roster?

Those DL's cost money for sure but this staff sticks to their budget guns pretty strictly. I don't know for sure what his financial package is relative to the others, but I doubt it's very different. The 2 deep is paid very well across the board. UA was trying to get Green and his teammate Blake Purchase to visit together (quietly) in the hopes they could pull both. Ole Miss ended up locking down Purchase before that could happen. I know as far as Green goes, they sold him playing time.

Why are we seemingly late on everyone this cycle? Kind of indicative of the season. Sluggish.
