🏈 2026 Alabama Roster Management Chart and Portal news

I've got a friend telling me that Simpson's agent has been a little loose lipped today. Saying that the draft is more likely for him right now than going back to Bama. Anyone else heard anything concrete on that?

I've not heard an update this week yet, but last I'd heard was that the weak QB class (there would likely just be 2 guys taken in front of him) is making his decision difficult. Originally, the plan was to return. And he was pretty set on that. But... things change...

Russaw was purely playing time and utilization. Pierre overtook him when he got injured and after getting healthy he saw his playing time diminish. Then on top of that Bama feels they can get similar production from Justin Hill who is considerably younger and less $$ NIL wise. Ultimately it looks like he didn't make his decision hastily but it was more about getting featured than about $$ is what I'm gathering so far.
Thanks

What's this rumor about Justin Hill and Ohio State situation?

Both are getting offers, but I'd imagine they are waiting on Ty to make his decision. In the end, I think Russell stays either way. But, still a lot that can happen there.

Imagine explaining this to each other in 2015 right now. I'd think you'd lost it, why would the back-up heir apparent be thinking about leaving when the guy in front is likely going to the nfl?

I think it's intriguing and there's teams already spending well passed the allowed amount of NIL money and giving the middle finger to the clearing house, without regulation this will continue to be a rough spot. Hearing Indiana is absolutely cleaning up and now has Cuban writing checks for 10-15m a year to use for NIL funds....

We just need Saban to cut a check as well former players donating money 😂

The Clearinghouse is basically worthless. I've said this so many times, but I loathe what college sports has become. Wins are not as fun... on the other side, losses don't sting as bad (to me anyway) and the drama of it all with the portal and stuff is not even the least bit entertaining. Same for other sports like basketball and baseball. The whole recruiting strategy, which was such a massive part of building a winning team, is gone. We all see the comparisons now between college and pro sports, but how much fun would the NFL or MLB be if after each season, every player was a free agent and there was no salary cap? The drafts would be meaningless. I mean, Alabama is still ok, they are sitting at the big table still in terms of money and resources, but the whole thing is just gross. Pay the players a reasonable amount to go with their "free" education and benefits of being a student-athlete and be done with this mess. Their real financial reward should come A) when they turn pro and earn it or B) when they get into the real world and work for it.

I have no information whatsoever......I feel like Mack is gone. I don't think he will be able to hold off Russell. Even if Ty leaves. I think Keelon is the QB of the future. With Shepard at Oregon St and Sheridan going to MSU, one of them pulls him. That is just my gut.

Heading into a season with a redshirt freshman and 2 true freshmen QB's doesn't bode well for us. We'll know in two weeks the deal.
