🏈 2026 Alabama Roster Management Chart and Portal news

If the reporter asks 100 guys on the team, this week, if they plan to enter the portal, 100 will say “no”. So 15-20 of them would be lying. It’s an unfair question and shouldn’t be asked leading up to a big game like this. If anything, it’s distracting.

You may not like the question. In the end there's no good choice for a reporter. While you've seen the teams out and about the towns for years the amount of time a guy gets to ask a player a question is as limited now as it was in the season: maybe more so. It's the nature of the beast. We're likely to hear from Germie, but not Brooks. I can easily see Hill having a bigger game than Jam but the only player you hear from the next day or two is Jam.

Frankly, considering they've been out there for less than 48 hours, I doubt a question like that one is distracting. In my view they are more likely to be getting caught up in the hoopla.

I hear you, I know reporters think they must ask certain questions. But do you think any player (that has not previously stated their intention to enter the portal) will respond to that question in the affirmative, if asked prior to the game this week?

That’s my point, we know the answer every kid is going to give. But I guess a reporter has to ask the question to say he did (and in this case with Williams, get a lot of clicks). ESPN had it as one of their top headline stories on the app at some point yesterday, “Williams sticking with Bama, no plan to enter portal”. People want to communicate their decisions/news on their terms and their timeline, not reporters’ timelines. We would all be that way.

I may butcher his name here. I think it's Puglisi: three year QB at UGA. I saw the same with him yesterday and it wasn't (at what looked like) a team event.

With Ryan? How long has that conversation been going here? Week six? If fans are wanting to know I imagine they (media) almost feel its a duty.

Transfers, opt-outs, early entrees ... freakin' menu to choose from for responses from these kids. And I struggle calling a guy like Pavia a kid any longer...

Seems like CKD could issue a statement that all of his players have been told to answer no comment if ask. Still might not stop it but maybe reduce it? Try to manage it to some degree.
