🏈 2026 Alabama Roster Management Chart and Portal news

Yeah, $4M is ridiculous. I'm just saying we need to pony up and not get outbid by $2M by everyone else.
Indiana just proved it ain't all about the money. Give me guys who consistently give everything they have and are good teammates over someone who's all about me and the money any day. Not saying coleman is of the latter just saying there needs to be some personality evaluation along with the ability evaluation

You gotta have the coaching for a roster like Indiana's. Do we have that??? DeBoer can't do it all.

who are you talking about?
Nobody in particular just saying part of the portal evaluation has to include how a person interacts with a team so you can't just pay a great athlete who is a cancer in the locker room and expect him to be a benefit.

It was a continuation of the conversation about we shouldn't be outbid by other teams. Some people are not a benefit no matter how talented.

So it's more of a human behavior what we expect to see.. v.s. what is actually happening.

Right there with QB play, OL and DL (DE and EDGE) talent must be stocked. IMO, OL is easier to cultivate trough recruiting, but evaluations must be solid. DL is more difficult and they are costly in the portal, but they are vital.

Then prioritize the other positions in order of need. Maybe you're thin at TE? Maybe there's a need a physical, hard nosed and experienced safety? More speed or a deep threat at WR? A kicker? Those needs will change year to year, but QB, OL, and DL/DE/EDGE must come first.

I bookended it for you. But THIS is the reason that Alabama hasn't been championship calibre since 2020. With ALL the talent of Bryce Young, he couldn't do everything. That should tell us ALL something. And every championship team has PHENOM DL/DE's. Will Anderson was special but we didn't have much depth. Courtney Morgan got the talent together for that UM team that whipped our ass in the previous Rose Bowl, so he has GOT to make the LOS the absolute TOP priority. Otherwise, we're just whistling past the graveyard.

No, more of a "You need to evaluate a player in the portal as a whole not just on athletic ability" kinda like kevin Costner felt about bo Wallace in draft day is a good example. Not talking about any current team or any particular player just saying the athletic ability is important but playing as a team may be more so
