Judge orders forfeiture of cash found in Alabama football player's dorm room
A Tuscaloosa County Circuit Court Judge has ordered the $4,661 confiscated from a University of Alabama football player's dorm room to be divided between the Tuscaloosa Police Department and he Tuscaloosa County District Attorney's Office.

West Alabama Narcotics Task Force member seized the cash and a quarter pound of marijuana from sophomore tight end Kurt Freitag last week, according to court documents.
Judge Brad Almond issued an order Tuesday, ruling that TPD receive 75 percent, or $3,496 of the cash, and that the District Attorney's office receive the remaining $1,165.
No criminal charges from the investigation have been filed, as of Tuesday morning.
The civil forfeiture process is common when law enforcement agents seize property and cash during suspected drug transactions.
Agents observed and recorded a drug transaction outside of Bryant Hall on Oct. 7, according to court documents. A confidential informant identified Freitag as one of the participants, according to the documents.
The Tuscaloosa Police Department and University of Alabama have declined to comment on the case, citing the ongoing investigation.
Freitag has not played this season. He played two games in 2013, catching one pass for 11 yards against Georgia State. He also played against Arkansas.
