🧑‍🍳 "You ever put the pot of chili under the brisket to catch the drippings and smoke the chili?"

I see what appears to be wax paper underneath the drip under the chili, probably not what you are looking for.
i'm not sure what's going on other than creating a hell of a mess to clean up.

It looks like a drip pan to me, at the very bottom. Removable? Just above that, on the right, I can't tell. Bottom right of the second container/drip pan (or does that have more chili?)

Not sure what that is either, possibly a smoke box as it looks like an electric smoker. Figured the pan under the chili was the water pan.

It appears to be another bowl of chili. After seeing the close up, I know that is not wax paper underneath anything. It still looks good.

Chili looks runny and not thick enough for my liking.
@alabama mike This was my upcoming comment/reply. I'd have to stir that chili a little to see how thick. From my view I'm seeing puddles of the grease from the brisket collecting on the top and by the way that looks? It looks like a lot of liquid.

Just a wild guess ... they dumped several can of beans in the mix and didn't drain them.

Draining the grease is a must!

And that's part of what makes this confusing. The "drippings" giving flavor? If you drain the grease you're getting rid of the "drippings," are you not?

It's a unique idea. I'll definitely give him that hat tip. Personally, I'd be leaning more towards using the brisquit meat in the chili versus just the drippings.

(I know I can make a hell of a sauce or gravy with those.)

I have a lot of stomach issues so draining the grease for me is a must.

The original poster said that's what he did, and then the MD showed his setup. Yes, put the brisket in there and let it render into the chili.
