šŸˆ You can change one existing rule in CFB, or make a new one. What do you do and why?

Can be silly or serious or whatever you want.

Mine:

Silly because it's so unrealistic: Mine would be no more commercials. It's not like we need them to go pee anymore; just pause the damn TV, then fast forward. Halftime would be great because we'd get to see the entire marching band performances. Plus, the last two minutes of a game wouldn't last for a damn half hour.

OR

Mostly serious: Teams get TWO uniform combinations per season (home and away; no alternates, specials, etc.). Only exception to this rule is the Army-Navy game.

I have two.

The first one is one they just put into affect and it has to do with showing your stomach by rolling your jersey under, not showing the back plate protector, and the other couple of rules they have. To me as a kid, these were the few small things that drew me to college football and that I mimicked for years, even when I was in high school. Folding my jersey up so you could see my back pad, rolling the sleeves up on my jersey to show off your biceps, and rolling your jersey under to show your stomach was what it was all about man. I just think tailoring it to anything that resembles the NFL is a bad and stupid move.

The second one would be celebrations. I don't want the whole damn team coming to the endzone and shaking their asses and all that bullshit, but getting excited and spiking a football is not something I feel that should be penalized. Dunking the upright is so awesome to me if you can get that high. Loved watching Tony Gonzalez do it. group celebrations and choreographed deals should be nixed, but a guy getting picked up by his teammates and spiking a football, albeit not over an opposing player, is fine in my eyes.

Not gonna lie, but as a teenage girl, I LOVED watching high school football practice for that reason you mentioned in rule #1 .. :D

I agree that CFB becoming the NFL (not just in terms of jerseys and celebrations) is a bad thing. I'd hate to see CFB become the 'No Fun League'. Keep the two separate and distinct and enjoy the best parts of both!

God, I have so many. Relax the celebration penalties, bring back 5-yard unintentional face masks, bring back the halo rule, put a much bigger emphasis on ineligible receivers downfield, do away with targeting and bring back the simple helmet-to-helmet for defenseless receivers. I know thats way more than one but there's just too much lol

I guess if i had one and one only....
I would make a minor change and that would be to overtime... cf is so much better then nfl
But.....
Lets start it at the 40 instead of 25.., at least make a team move the ball to get in FG range
... I know a 57 is in range for some but not many....(40+7+10)...makes it a 57yarder. but 25 is to much in range (25+7+10) @ 42 yarder
Gotta do something to get something

It would be nice if they had a rule which made it illegal for an offensive player to run a pick play against a secondary defensive player.....oh wait....there is a rule............................ Yes, I am still a tad bit bitter...let me have my Junior High moment

In all seriousness, I would like to see the clock continue to run after a first down.

This is an easy grip for me. The year was 2008 and the 40-second clock had eliminated the "ready to play signal" and then a 25-second clock. The old rule allowed for defenses to substitute as often as offensive scheme and down and distance dictated. The 40-second clock would run immediately after the whistle of the last play, making substitutions very difficult, unless the offense substitutes themselves.

This new rule has breathed life into what we commonly refer to as the HUNH. I believe this one rule has done more for average or even below average talented football teams to win ballgames against better talent than any other rule I can think of. It's also been a contributing factor to college football now being able to run 5 quarters of plays in a 4 quarter game.
