🏈 Yahoo Claims DJ Fluker Received Extra Benefits

If this is true, which sure seems it is then everybody involved that has ties to Alabama should be dead to the school.

The timing of it isn't an issue. They released the story when they had it done. If we lose to aTm it won't be because of some story it'll be because they were better

Hey, remember this back in April?

http://cdn3.sbnation.com/imported_assets/1800875/rIXxLHH_medium.jpg

It's a tweet from DJ on 4/23/13 that reads:

"Yea I took $ n college so wat. I did wat i had to do. Agents was tryin to pimp me so I pimped them. Cast da 1st stone"

The Proof Yahoo Sports claims to have is probably fake, just stirring shit up because they found some slight attachment between the parties listed. If you read the initial report it spans tons of different players from different schools. I doubt there was some giant conspiracy theory here with agents and players where someone outed every single one of them. This just seems like it's a piece aimed at drawing attention to Yahoo Sports and a writer who may or may not have much credibility as well as any credible sources. Their "sources" are currently themselves at this moment and whatever they say exists, there's no actual evidence or records being shown in these pieces.

Just an opinion..........The NCAA doesnt have subpoena power. To verify the validity of texts or money exchanges, I would think they would need ALOT of cooperation from the parties allegedly involved and since they are no longer in the program, they dont have to say squat. Seems to me that no matter how bad it seems, its along way from any potential dicsiplinary action. That being said, due to the NCAA having egg all over their face due to recent failures.......we know that they would love to hammer the elite program in the country......they will come with all they have..........whatever that is.

Ok I read over the article and saw the "evidence" provided, most of that is handwritten chicken scratch that could be made by me right now. Every single one of the documents is something I could make easily. Only the flight passes seem legit but nothing with Fluker's name is on the flight passes. It is also possible that these have been photoshopped to seem realistic before they were turned in. Sorry if I'm skeptical, but his seems like too good of a timing and then to have ALL this shit easy to get to and copy/scan just seems a bit much. People don't keep records like this of illegal transactions...and businesses like these don't hand out personal information regarding such transactions. Especially the Airports, seems a bit fishy to me.

Discounting the article b/c of ones photoshop abilities is garbage. I read it & it is one of the best fact finding articles I've seen.

Remember when one rogue booster gave 100k to a player that hadn't even signed? Do you remember the repercussions of that?

I'm sorry but I am terribly grieved... I can only pray that it can be proven that the university wasn't aware of this. It may help.

That mf...:swear:

Wouldn't all of this have to have come from Luther? Meaning wouldn't he have to have been the one to provide all of this to yahoo?

Also, DJ isn't the one that should be having stones thrown at it should be Luther and the agents involved.

Dude. Players get paid. It happens. It's SEC football. Doesn't mean the program is going to get killed. Did nobody learn anything from these recent high profile cases like Cam and Manziel? And those were guys who were still eligible.

So we take the "investigative reporters" at their word? I think I I'll just not waist my time with it. This story screams "look at me" all over it. Facts aren't backed up with anything other than documents which are more than likely photo shopped or documents that a 3 year old could make from 1 trip to a Western Union.

He made his statement as he opened the presser. Said that he hadnt read the story but was unaware of anything wrong that was done, and if anything was done they will take care of it. He said he didn't have any more info on anything involving former or current players.

Very first question was about the column, Saban said he didnt know anything else and he already said not to ask him about it again. They asked again and he exploded and said "DO NOT ASK AGAIN" and if anybody had a question about Texas A&M he would be happy to answer them. They just decided to end it there lol and he gave the media the death stare and said "Thanks for the interest in the game" before walking away. Easily the shortest Saban presser ever.

Really? The receipts are photo shopped? The text messages too then I suppose?

This screams "hey look they got paid and now we have proof" and it also screams "this isn't just a Manziel or Cam thing

All these "alleged" infractions coming to light here lately from so many different programs makes me wonder if the media is trying to prove a point. Like maybe the NCAA isn't equipped to handle these issues in a consistent manner. Does this stuff happen? Hell yes. Whether a program's staff was involved or it's just a selfish player who felt entitled, you'd be hard pressed to find any program that doesn't have some stain on. And that's just it...you can't stop it. More to the point, the NCAA can't stop it. Used to be this just looked bad on the university but it really shows just how inept the NCAA really is. Heard some head on ESPN say that after the Manziel ruling the NCAA lost all credibility. Couldn't agree more.

Even if DJ was preyed on, he still took the offer. He isn't entirely innocent. I can certainly see the appeal, as I mentioned (I certainly didn't come from money lol so I can really see the appeal) but damn .. That's just a hot mess. The agents are certainly the ones to be bashed first, but the players are also to blame. Though the ones in the NFL can't be punished, can they?

Given the recent discussions on the ineptitude of the NCAA and the discussions over paying college athletes, it really seems like it came out at the right time.

First, thank you for posting the video Planomateo! I'm sure those of you in state are seeing far more coverage of this that those of us out of state and I thank you so much for the video. What scares me the most is the NCAA has done nothing lately to punish obvious wrongdoers (e.g. Cam and Manzel) and has taken a lot of heat for doing nothing. Now with talk boiling over making it legal to pay players and the talk of the major programs breaking away from the NCAA, they may be feeling so much heat that they're ready to show they are still relevant and make examples out of some programs. I think the players will use this as motivation to kick the crap out of A&M. Roll Tide!

We now live in an overexposed world...CNN tries to get the scoop before Fox News who's trying to beat the major networks to the titillating tale so they can SELL SELL SELL the ad space. Yahoo Sports is competing with ESPN (and now FOX) and lets not forget SI who's got a sensationalized piece out right now about Okie State. Money, money, money - gotta get the juicy dirt before the next guy. I grow increasingly weary of the mess - it's a damn football game...

The only coverage we are getting up here is on Fletcher Cox, lol.

And you summed up my fears re: the NCAA pretty nicely!
